Robert Hogge on overcoming injuries and first competition experience!
In this episode, I speak with one of my clients, Robert Hogge. Robert was in a severe car accident which caused significant nerve tissue damage. This injury left him nearly immobile and stuck in a life of severe pain. He became medically addicted to pain medication and realized he had to turn his life around. He got off the meds and turned towards nutrition to improve his health and well being. He experienced such a shift in his well being after following the keto diet that he decided to pursue one of his life's dreams of stepping on stage as a competitor. He worked with me and we got him absolutely shredded at 49 years old and made this dream a reality. He now works alongside his wonderful wife in teaching others about the benefits of keto and how to live a purpose driven life. I've got utmost respect for him, I hope you enjoy the conversation!

Adam Clark on his and his family's health transformation!
In this episode, I speak with Adam Clark on his and his family's health transformation. Adam is one of 7 brothers, five of which are keto. He was introduced to keto by his father and his older brother and has since made it his lifestyle. We go over some of the mistakes he's made with the diet and many of the lessons learned. We talk about his fasting strategy and the importance of avoiding sweeteners and caffeine in excess. Adam trains solely with resistance bands so we dove into his technique there. Adam tells how he is raising his family keto and his plans for his daughter's health. We also dove into his family's new business....homemade pork rinds! Jonathan Shane on his post-show rebound and improved strategy!
In this episode, I'm joined by repeat guest, Jonathan Shane. Jonathan is a former client of mine who competed in his first show earlier this year. I originally had him on the podcast immediately following his first show and we talked about his competition prep strategy. I wanted to have him on again several months after so that he could describe what the post-show "rebound" and reverse diet has been like. We also dive into the importance of embracing each phase of body recomposition and being ok with some temporary increase in body fat. Jonathan tells us some of the lessons he's learned throughout the process and what he plans to do going forward. In this episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with Jimmy and Christine Moore! They tell me how they met and what their nutrition was like prior to keto. I learned about several of the autoimmune issues Christine had that played a major role in motivating her to improve her health. We talked about their new book, Real Food Keto, and many of the nutritional therapy principles that it's based on. We dove into digestive health and how to regulate blood sugar. Ciara Martinez on first keto competition experience!
In this episode, I speak with fellow keto competitor, Ciara Martinez! Ciara was motivated to turn her life around after reaching a weight of 225lbs and falling into a deep depression. She had two kids, a broken leg, had just relocated, and was totally frustrated with her situation. She decided to start the keto diet and improve her health. After seeing some great progress she decided to take it one step further and enter a bikini competition! She dives into that whole experience and many of the lessons learned. We talk about peak week manipulations and how to properly follow a keto diet during a contest prep. Paul Jordaan on professional rugby, carnivore, and Africa!
In this episode, I speak with professional rugby athlete Paul Jordaan! Paul enlightened me on the sport of Rugby and goes into the details behind the training regiment; both during the season and in the off-season. He tells about some of the injuries he's suffered and how he manages his time as a professional athlete. We dive into his nutritional protocol and how he transitioned to Keto and then to carnivore. Paul follows a higher fat approach to carnivore and has seen significant benefits in his recovery time and overall performance.
