Today we have a very special meditation designed to help clear and relax your mind. My wife Jessica and I first learned this from a Tai Chi master on Maui. It’s called the 4 directions. You can do this any time of the day, and I’d particularly recommend it any time you’re stressed, about to perform, have a meeting, or need a clear mind to think at your best. This is a very simple meditation, that involves just a bit of movement to get the Chi, or energy unstuck and flowing again, from your brain, through your neck, and throughout your body. So you’ll want to do this sitting upright with either both feet symettrically on the floor, or sitting cross-legged good and tall. I’ll guide you through it, but in short, you’ll exhale as you turn your head to the left. Then inhale as you bring it back. Then exhale as you turn to the right. Then inhale as you bring it back, then exhale as you bring your head up, then inhale as you bring it down. Then exhale as you drop your chin, then inhale as you bring it up. For this exercise always exhale and inhale through the nose. Lastly, never turn your head to the point of discomfort, and begin lightly, with only a few repetitions. You can build up over time, strengthening your neck muscles and gaining flexibility. But begin with only 3-5 minutes, and never do this two days in a row, until your neck muscles have grown accustomed to it. However, after that time, feel free to gradually do as much as you’d like. I know before a big talk, I might do ten minutes, even twenty minutes of this exercise to quiet my mind, get my creative flowing, and feel energized all over! The perfect meditation to de-stress, clear & unclutter your mind, to recharge and get the energy flowing for greater creativity, focus & performance. Hi everyone, this is Michael Sandler, your host on inspire nation. Today we have a very simple, yet powerful inspirational and motivational meditation to help you recharge and feel at your best! This is a meditation I used years ago to literally help save my life. I fell in a hiking accident, shattering my hip and femur, and was stuck in a freezing cold creek, bleeding out internally. I stopped breathing, and had a near-death experience, but that’s something for another day. But when I came back I needed to find a way to keep breathing until rescue crews could get to me. And so I did this meditation which I’d used in different ways for years. Thankfully I was well-versed at it, and it worked. You can do this meditation sitting upright, or laying down. Or even broken on the rocks. Technically, you can do it driving as well, but I rarely recommend meditating and driving together, and I wouldn’t recommend it here. You can do this meditation any time of the day, all you need is a few quiet moments, and a place to relax. As usual, I’d recommend in through the nose, and out through the nose as well. But if you have to, inhale through the nose, and out nice and slow through the mouth. We’re going to do this meditation in a really fun way, focusing on ourselves first, and then on others. There’s a few key reasons for this. First off, compassion rules. The more we cultivate compassion for ourselves and for others, the more we help raise the vibration of the entire planet. Secondly, science shows we release chemicals, happy-drugs in the brain, when we’re focused on helping others, that aren’t released when we’re focused on ourselves. This means we get a double-benefit, we get to help others, which helps us too, and by helping others, we get a direct benefit as well! It’s an exceptionally simple meditation, in essence, we’re going to breathe in light, and breathe out love. ---Having Been Sick from Mold Toxicity, and With My Co-Host and Wife Jessica Lee STILL struggling and on a very long-road back to recovery from Mold Toxicity Poisoning, this is our perhaps our most important interview yet.--- DETAILS: The hosts of Inspire Nation have been living in a mold-infested house for four years, slowly withering away without knowing why. They were very impressed by MOLDY and the webinar and will interview Dave Asprey, producer, and host of Bulletproof Radio about the film. Jessica is taking a break from co-hosting as she still has mold toxicity and gets very fatigued, but this is an important interview for her so she will join for this one. Introduction: Today we have a very special guest. His name is Dave Asprey. Dave Asprey is the founder of The Bulletproof Executive, is a Silicon Valley investor and technology entrepreneur who spent two decades and over $300,000 to hack his own biology. Dave lost 100 pounds without counting calories or excessive exercise, used techniques to upgrade his brain by more than 20 IQ points, and lowered his biological age while learning to sleep more efficiently in less time. Learning to do these seemingly impossible things transformed him into a better entrepreneur, a better husband, and a better father. Dave is the creator of the widely popular Bulletproof Coffee, host of the radio show and #1 health podcast, Bulletproof Radio, and author of the New York Times bestselling book, THE BULLETPROOF DIET. Dave’s newest venture, the first Bulletproof Coffee shop is scheduled to open in Santa Monica, California in early 2015. His Bulletproof Films released the company’s first documentary film, MOLDY, in June 2015. – which is the topic of conversation today. Background: Before we begin, a bit of background on us. This year Jessica and I moved from Maui to her parents place in New Jersey. It was an emergency move, after our health came crashing down around us. We didn’t know what was going on. For two years Jessica was getting sicker and sicker. We thought it was the air from a neighboring volcano, until we realized getting her out of the house, and into an air conditioned car or anywhere else on the island and suddenly she’d feel better. Get her out, she felt human, and became a little chatterbox. Bring her home, she’d been exhausted, unable to speak intelligently, frazzled, with headaches, nausea and feeling sick. For myself, my downward slide took the form of an old and fragile body…with unexplainable minor injury after injury, and with a fall that lead to a near death accident---later tested to reveal incredibly weak bone density, despite lots of activity. On top of that I struggled with brain fog. For Jessica, this meant she was back in bad, almost unable to finish sentences by the time it was noon. For me, it meant the shortest attention span and inability to multi-task I’ve ever experienced. And this from a life coach who’s specialized in working with those with ADD, myself included. It wasn’t until a week before we left, with the world crashing down around us, that the cleaners found a carpet 1 inch thick of black mold on the upper level of the house where we couldn’t see it. It was in the walls, on all upper surfaces, on the ceiling, and even in the skylights…though we’d been told it was dirt. We are so lucky to have gotten out. The previous tenant who lived in our home for seven years, came down with what we believe was terminal brain cancer. On that light note, let’s jump right into things.
