Build a Brand That Is Referable with Michael Roderick

How to Begin to Build a Brand That Is Referable Today, I am so excited to welcome Michael Roderick back to the podcast. If you've been a long time listener of the show, you may remember Michael from our first interview in Episode 177. Michael is the CEO of Small Pond Enterprises, which helps thoughtful givers become thought leaders by making their brands referable, their messaging memorable, and their ideas unforgettable. He is also the host of the podcast Access to Anyone, which shows how you can get to know anyone you want in business and in life using time tested relationship-building principles. Michael's unique methodology comes from his own experience of going from being a Highschool English teacher to a Broadway Producer in under two years. In this episode, we'll explore: What it means to be a thoughtful giver How to begin to build a brand that is referable in order to become a thought leader Why the best thought leaders are a combination of scientists, celebrities, and magicians The three main principles of referability and how to implement them Michael's current favorites: Book: Linchpin, Speaker: Adam Grant, and Podcast: 7-Figure Millennials More from Michael His first appearance on The Big Talk podcast in Episode 177 Website: http://www.smallpondenterprises.com/ Podcast: Access to Anyone Discover how referable you are at http://myreferabilityrater.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/michael-roderick-1161571/ More from Tricia Order my book, The Influential Voice: Saying What You Mean for Lasting Legacy Explore my content and follow me on YouTube Follow me on Instagram Connect with me on Facebook Connect with me on LinkedIn Visit my website at TriciaBrouk.com

What Makes a Great Eulogy

What Makes a Great Eulogy: Giving a Eulogy That Truly Celebrates the Person You're Honoring In today's podcast, I read again from Lend Me Your Ears: Great Speeches in History by William Sapphire. And this is a very unique episode because the speeches I'm sharing are actually three eulogies. While it may seem strange that I'm reading eulogies, the reality is that it's incredibly important if you ever have to give a eulogy that you have inspiration. Because when you think about what it means to stand up and honor someone who has passed, you want to do everything possible to get that moment right. Also, when you are a speaker and thought leader, you are always acting as an influential voice, and making an impact with the words you share. In this episode, we'll explore: George Bernard Shaw's salute to his friend Albert Einstein The words India's Prime Minister Nehru shared about Gandhi The eulogy I gave at my father's funeral What to do when or if you are called to speak about a loved one's life What makes a great eulogy More from Tricia Consistently Share Your Big Idea with Secrets of The Big Talk Explore my content and follow me on YouTube Follow me on Instagram Connect with me on Facebook Connect with me on LinkedIn Visit my website at TriciaBrouk.com

Deconstructing My Speaking Process for Big Stages

In today's episode, I'm so excited to be deconstructing the process I use to take big stages. As a part of this journey, I'm sharing with you my recent experience speaking at Giovanni Marsico's Changemaker event in Toronto. Giovanni is the founder of Archangel and he asked me to take his stage on September 11th at their three day event. It was the first event they did live in almost two and a half years. Of course, I was an absolute yes and in this episode, I'm going to share with you my process for everything that happened after that yes, so you can get a sense of all that I do — and don't do — in order to get ready for a big talk. In this episode, we'll explore: Why I was an immediate yes to this particular speaking event The questions you need to ask in the first conversation you have with an event organizer so you know you're ready to take their stage The importance of using every available minute you are given for your talk Being a vessel sharing what you know to be true with your audience What it means to be in a continual state of readiness for the next stage you're going to take More from Tricia Consistently Share Your Big Idea with Secrets of The Big Talk Explore my content and follow me on YouTube Follow me on Instagram Connect with me on Facebook Connect with me on LinkedIn Visit my website at TriciaBrouk.com
