108: Negotiating Your Salary
Send us Fan MailSalary is a very personal thing. Many people struggle to talk about money, let alone their salary. Negotiating your salary isn’t about what you feel. It’s about what you know and what you have done. Your salary is not a direct reflection of your self-worth. Your salary is an agreement between you and your employer about what your skills are currently valued in the marketplace. If you want to change that, you’ll need to have an evidence-based conversation. In this episode, I will help you go after that raise you’ve wanted. To do this, you’ll need to do your research, position yourself strategically, and, most importantly, clean up your thoughts so you can have the best possible conversation. 104: Setting Boundaries – When to Say Yes or No
Send us Fan MailSetting boundaries isn’t tricky. Enforcing them can be. Throughout my leadership journey, I have learned the power of setting boundaries, or what I call ground rules. Once you set the ground rules and they are agreed upon, everyone knows how to play. And once you know how to play, you never have to worry about walking on egg shells about the things you do personally or professionally. But what are the ground rules for you and your career? What is non-negotiable, and where are you willing to give in a little? In this episode, you will learn precisely what a ground rule is, how to create them, how best to get buy-in, and when it’s time to re-evaluate or re-negotiate them.
