2 Things You Must Have in Order to Get PR

From helping thousands of small businesses owners and entrepreneurs cold pitch and land top tier media features without paying for agencies or an ad, I'm sharing my proven ingredients every pitch NEEDS TO HAVE for a media outlet, journalist, editor, podcast host to say YES to featuring you for free. This is a must listen episode for any business owner, CEO, or entrepreneur as it will help clarify your message and position you properly for big opportunities without pay to play! Here’s What We Cover In the Episode and More:PR is about effective brand communication beyond features. Introduction to the CPR Method (Credibility, Point of view, Relevance). Importance of specificity and relevance in pitches. Practical example of specificity using the “onion layer” metaphor.Crafting concise, engaging subject lines. Relevance as a way to capture attention quickly.  Tips for targeting pitches with one strong angle.Encouragement to approach pitches as specific “puzzle pieces.” To land PR features, you need specificity and relevance—the dynamic duo that make pitches pop. Think of specificity as the hook that digs in deep, while relevance is the line that reels in interest. A pitch that’s too general? It’s like serving soup without salt—no one’s biting. Nail these two, and you’ll have editors saying, “Tell me more!” Product Businesses! The WORST Podcast Pitches I Ever Received As A Podcast Host

Want to know the worst pitches I get as a top 1% podcast host of people wanting to come onto my show? I am reading ACTUAL, REAL pitches I get everyday to help you avoid the common mistakes when pitching podcasts! If you want to get onto more podcasts, join our PR program for a proven, winning PR system that positions you as the industry authority so you can get more sales, SEO, and credibility! Here’s What We Cover In the Episode and More:Reads actual poorly written podcast pitches receivedCommon mistakes found in these pitches The importance of personal relevance and not delegating pitches to agencies Need for specificity and relevance in pitches How to focus pitches on the podcast’s audience, not just self-promotion Suggestions on how to improve podcast pitching strategiesThe worst podcast pitches aren’t just bad—they’re like a one-sided date where all you do is brag, ignore the other person’s interests, and then wonder why you got ghosted. If you can’t take five minutes to personalize your pitch, why should I spend 50 interviewing you? Remember, if your pitch looks like a copy-paste, it’ll land in the recycle bin faster than a bad subject line. Specificity wins hearts (and bookings), while generic fluff gets you a one-way ticket to “delete.” Be relevant, be real or be forgotten!Product Businesses! Why I Hate Bro Marketing and Hustle Culture

As a child of immigrants who was taught to work hard and value money over everything else, I've spent a lifetime unlearning the narratives that lead me to live by other people's definition of success, and measuring my worth through external measures. From burnout to my healing journey with my mom, I have shared very openly my relationship to re-defining my relationship with money, success, self worth, and how I believe our marketing should be a reflection of our core values. Recently, I attended an event that was very bro marketing which not only lacked any diversity at all, but prioritized MORE IS ALWAYS BETTER and this made me want to record an episode on my reflections on this. Although we live in a world where sometimes the loudest voices get heard or valued, may this episode be an invitation to give yourself permission to define success on your own terms. Here’s What We Cover In the Episode and More:Reflection on a $5000 business event experience Diversity issues and lack of representation at the event Focus of the event on selling businesses, not just growthHigh-pressure sales tactics and lack of transparencyPersonal misalignment with extreme capitalist business strategies Value in a more nuanced definition of success Importance of balancing revenue growth with personal well-being and impact Emphasis on bringing humanity back into marketing Encouragement to reflect on personal business goals and valuesAttending a high-cost business event full of aggressive upselling and lacking diversity was a wake up call— authenticity and integrity in business far outweigh any superficial revenue growth. The event’s narrow focus on preparing businesses for sale, while sidelining valuable voices, only solidified my belief that success isn’t about relentless hustle but about genuine connections and meaningful progress. Let’s ditch the cookie-cutter capitalist paradigm and embrace a more nuanced, human-centered approach to business growth. Product Businesses!
