👉🏻 Our guest is Richard Rosedale PT, Dip MDT. Richard graduated from Guy’s Hospital School of Physiotherapy (London, UK) in 1992. After emigrating to Canada, he completed his Diploma in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) in 1997. Richard worked in orthopedics and Occupational Health at London Health Sciences Centre, Canada from 1993 till 2018. Richard has been active in research since 2007 and has authored or co-authored over twenty articles and letters to the editor, primarily exploring the clinical utility of MDT. He has also co-authored various book chapters. Since 2003 Richard has been a member of the McKenzie Institute teaching faculty and teaches healthcare professionals throughout Canada and Internationally. In 2005 Richard was appointed to the Institute’s International Education Council. He has led numerous educational projects, including the development of online learning courses and live-course educational materials which are used for teaching in over 40 countries throughout the world. Richard was the recipient of the McKenzie Institute's 2014 Bronze Lady Award for his outstanding contributions over many years to both MDT research and MDT education. In 2018 Richard was appointed as the International Director of Education and the Diploma Coordinator for the McKenzie Institute International.

Dr. Donelson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specialized in and researched diagnostics and non-operative spine care for more than 30 years. He earned a Diploma in Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy in 1990 and a Master of Science Degree in 1999. He founded SelfCare First in 2004 with a mission to globally improve the quality and cost of care for individuals seeking help for painful low back, neck, and all other musculoskeletal disorders. He has published numerous spinal research studies, chapters, and review articles; presented over one hundred research papers, conference workshops, courses, and symposia in more than 15 countries. 👉🏻 Our guest is Brent Cunning, Advanced Practice PT, Cert. MDT. Brent is an advanced practice physical therapist with a special focus on low back pain diagnosis, treatment, and triage. He trained with orthopaedic spine surgeons, neurosurgeons, interventional radiologists, pain specialists, and rheumatologists learning to interpret spine MRIs, CTs, and radiographs. He triaged over 2500 low back pain cases over 3 years for the spine and neurosurgeons in London, Ontario, Canada determining appropriateness for exercise-based care, imaging, injection, medication, or surgical intervention. He helped transition this program to virtual delivery at the onset of COVID using MDT to maintain assessment and treatment quality. Brent left this role in 2021 and is now involved full-time in DisruptionMSK, a project he has been building since 2017. DisruptionMSK is an education platform designed to help MDT providers build profitable virtual care practices, create awareness of MDT among individuals with MSK pain and primary care providers through mass digital marketing, create an online collaborative network of like-minded MDT entrepreneurs, build value-based collaborations between MDT clinicians and primary care providers, and ultimately get a repeated exam on the front-end of every orthopaedic assessment across disciplines, across the world.
