EP 197.5: Learn to Love Yourself and Recognize Your Own Strength as You Heal From Disordered Food Thoughts & ED Behaviors
Hey sis, I am going to go on a riff with you for a little because I just showed up to the mic today and I'm feeling very creative. I'm in one of my centers of energy where I feel like I could just go on one and not even have a podcast script, which I typically do try to leverage some bullet points that I want to share with you for every single episode to make it super tactical.
But today I really want to talk about love and self love because it's love month. Today is Valentine's day here! We are doing all the Valentine's exchanges and showing the people that we love in our life even more love today. I try to tell my kids we should show love every day, but today is just an extra little bonus of love (and chocolate!).
So I encourage you to get some Dove and spend quality time to yourself. But even if you aren't at the Dove chocolates just yet....honoring you and how far you have come in your journey of navigating food freedom is just as important.
Your best today, sis, can be your best. Your body is your vessel and your home, and it's important that even if we're not feeling totally in love with our body that we can appreciate and view it as a palace of self love and respect.
If you feel that you're confused on where to turn next and life feels so heavy and you feel like you're doing the same thing expecting different results, then I want you to turn to you. I want you to turn inward and I also want you to turn to God upward and whatever that looks like for you versus outward.
Which is what we do, we tend to turn to the world when we're not feeling enough.
Today, I just want you to think about what self love looks like for you personally? I wanted to dive into this topic on the podcast because it is incredibly challenging in recovery. First of all, learning to love yourself and recognizing your own strengths.
And if you're like many people in recovery, including my own self, my past journey, you might find it super easy to support others, but then you don't show that same kind of love or that same kind of kindness to you.
In Episode 197.5, I wanted to explore some practical ways that you can nurture that self love and how you can spread love and awareness as you acknowledge your progress.
Join me for today's HBS episode!

EP 196: 4 Strategies to Implement This Week to Create Calmness & Stillness in Your Life + How to Be Okay With Being a Beginner (Again) in Recovery
Hey girl!
I am super excited to talk to you today about something deeply personal, yet universally relevant in my life right now. And that is the art of being a beginner, and being a beginner again. This is a concept that not only has kind of resurrected itself as I continue to coach more and more women in healing their relationships with food and their body, but specifically in the context of facing a challenge like recovery when you're in the messy middle of it.
This type of challenge requires you to build again, to rebuild your life, to create this best version of you and to become a beginner again, because everything that your mind has taught you over time and those lies that you've been believing are truths are really just lies. You are not going to be unlovable if you gain weight. You are not going to be rejected if you nourish your body. You are not going to live trapped in your thoughts forever....all of those are just LIES.
And the reality is, is the more awareness that you get around this, the more present you are and the more still you are, the more you realize, rationally, you're going to have to relearn some things. You're going to have to be okay being a beginner. That can take some time and some hard work and quite honestly it can be challenging when you love being a high performer or a master in all areas of your life.
So today's podcast episode is all around the art of beginning again.
I hope you will tune into to this one girl and share it with someone you love! I'm going to challenge you with some stillness this week and to give you four different strategies that you can try on to apply to your life, so that you can create a more peaceful life full of all the very BEST things.
"Failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently". ~Henry Ford
"You must learn to stop thinking in beginnings and endings, successes and failures, and begin to treat everything in your life as a learning experience instead of a proving one." ~Guy Finley

EP 192.5: Support to Conquer ED's Biggest Lie + Why You're More Than Enough & How to Start Living Like It
Hello gorgeous!
Please tell me you are counting down till the weekend like I am? I am so flipping thankful it is Friday!
Goodness, has this week been A LOT for me! How about you?
~
When life is crazy it's hard to appreciate the "A LOTs". It's hard to be grateful for overflow & abundance. & when you have an unhealthy relationship with food & your body it makes it nearly impossible to see anything other than LACK.
Your eating disorder restricts more than just food & calories.
If you feel like you never have enough time, money, love or happiness....you aren't alone. This is a tactic of disordered eating. It's how it keeps you in the crazy-making cycle. But sitting in the "not enough" bleeds into "YOU not being enough". & we aren't living in that house anymore sis!
The truth is you are MORE than enough.
& you deserve to start living like it.
You can change your life from living trapped & restricted to living plentiful & abundant!
Tune in to this one girl if you are looking for a pep talk & tangible take aways to help you grab your power back from your unhealthy relationship with food.
I hope today's episode blesses you.
I can't wait for your listen!

lindsey

EP 192: From Stronghold to Strength ~ Ask Yourself These 3-4 Impactful Questions to Unleash Your Leadership This Year & Step Into Your Very Best Self
Hey sis!
It is January and we are rolling in deep and today we're going to be talking about something that has been so heavy on my heart lately. And that is how your relationship with food isn't just affecting your health, but how it could be holding back your leadership potential and the significant impact that you're meant to have in this world.
Marshawn Daniels says it best in her devotional..."As women, we've had an up and down roller coaster like relationship with the word leadership. On one hand, we're supposed to be submissive and supportive. We learned so much about surrender, but less about stepping up. We want to expand the kingdom, but we don't want to step out of place.
We want to be a good wife. We want to be a pleasing daughter. We want to be a wonderful mother, but we're afraid to admit that our hearts are craving something more. And therein lies a holy tension. See, God desires that we absorb the wisdom of others, but also that we never place the perspective of other people and this world above His voice and His plan."
And the truth is that leadership is your birthright. It's in your DNA. I cannot agree with that more. I have felt God nudging me and calling me to lead even more this year. And you know what breaks my heart? Seeing brilliant, capable women sitting on the sidelines of their own lives because their eating disorder has convinced them that controlling food and their body is more important than their God given purpose.
~
Today on the podcast, we're going to talk about your unhealthy relationship with food is actually a stronghold, keeping you from becoming the best version of you and from becoming a leader that you're meant to be. You see, I personally believe that my word for the year, "leadership" is not just meant for me, but it's meant for you too, because leadership is so tightly ingrained in our identity.
And when you can't believe in your own identity because you have been living under the cloud of false truths in your mind, then you forget that you are a mighty warrior. You forget that you have influence. You forget that God has been grooming you since you were born for a purpose.
~
I want to ask you something: when is the last time you thought about the influence that you're meant to have here, not just in your family or in your job, but on this planet in this world?
2025 is all about leadership for me. I'm realizing more and more how many of us are letting so many other things in our life, things of quote, "the world", rob us of our leadership potential, rob us of our impact.
These beliefs that we're not good enough, or we're not qualified, or we haven't yet arrived, or we aren't there yet. All these things, they're literally sucking the hope out of your journey forward. And without HOPE, I mean, what is it that we truly have anyways? Am I right?
I want you to stop letting your ED, letting this relationship with food, steal the rest of your life and your leadership potential.
Tune in to Episode 192 & share it with someone you love!

lindsey
