The New Grad Physio Podcast: 'Shocking! Why ROM Testing Is Better Than Most 'Special' Tests'
Have you noticed that most injuries you see are not quite as simple or clear cut as you were told at University.
Those textbook shoulder, knee or lower back pain patients never walk in to your clinic.
Patients always seem to have other issues, like previous injures or symptoms that do NOT fit that textbook clinical pattern.
When your objective tests don’t match your subjective question’s, it throws you sideways and you start to doubt yourself...
Worrying whether or not you will have the skills to work out what their problem is and how to fix it.
If you have already qualified you will know exactly what I am talking about.
If you are still studying you have all this to come!
But there is a simple way to make sense of your patient assessments and it’s not some magic test or new assessment method.
It’s actually much simpler than that.
Listen this this special episode to find out what it is...
Enjoy the show!

The New Grad Physio Podcast: 'The Shoulder’s Not So ‘Special’ Tests'
When it comes to the shoulder and special testing, the biggest mistake that I see New Grad’s make, is doing too many tests…
And worse than this…
Relying too much on special testing to make a diagnosis.
This is a big problem because most of the special tests at the shoulder are $*&£.
They have poor sensitivity and specificity and as such, are not great tests to use to make a correct diagnosis.
If you are relying too much on special tests during your assessments, finding a clear diagnosis at the shoulder, is almost impossible.
Listen to this podcast episode to discover why all New Grad’s make the same mistakes with the shoulder…
Learn my shoulder assessment game-changer and…
Find out exactly the best ‘special’ tests to use with your shoulder assessments.
Enjoy the show!

The New Grad Physio Podcast: 'How To Find The Real Shoulder Issue Even Without A Clear Diagnosis'
Why is it that shoulders are so difficult to treat and especially, tricky to diagnose?
The reason…
99% of New Grads (likely you too) are greatly overcomplicating the assessment.
This leads to overwhelm and uncertainty about the diagnosis…
Leaving you feeling confused, as your subjective and objective assessments don’t match up.
You may think that the shoulder is complicated and as a result you need some ‘magic’ assessment formula to find the right problem.
But it’s actually the opposite.
You don’t need a more elaborate assessment structure or to learn more shoulder tests.
You actually need to make it more simple.
A simpler shoulder assessment will make the management of the patients and athletes you see with shoulder pain much easier.
Listen to this latest podcast episode to find out how!

The New Grad Physio Podcast: 'Ankle Rehab - STOP Treating The WRONG Thing?
Stop wasting your time and efforts on the wrong rehab exercises and treatments and halt your frustration...
So you can treat even tricky ankle patients!
The ankle is meant to be a relatively simple joint.
So, why is it that even simple ankle cases can sometimes struggle to get back to full fitness?
It used to baffle me as a New Grad.
I couldn’t quite grasp why such a simple joint was sometimes so tricky to fix up.
That’s until I learnt how to assess the ankle using a really simple test…
And how to use the results of this test to tell me exactly what to treat and what rehab to give my patients and athletes.
It stopped me wasting my time and efforts on methods that would never improve range of movement...
Because I was no longer treating the wrong thing!
I’ll show you how to do the same in this special podcast episode...
So you can give your patients exactly the right treatments and rehab they actually need...
Stop frustrating rehab for you and your patient...
And get quick, positive patient results with any ankle injury!
Enjoy the show!

The New Grad Physio Podcast: 'Are You Missing These 3 Vital Yellow Flag Questions?'
He had depression and I didn’t know.
We were 4 months in to a 9 month rehab programme and he had been struggling for the last 3 months.
I had spent 1-2 hours with him almost every day of the week with his post op shoulder treatment and rehab yet…
I was totally unaware of what was going on in his head.
As a health progressional I was meant to help him.
Looking back I let him down.
I didn’t have the knowledge, skills or confidence with this type of problem.
There’s no worse feeling when you can NOT help your patient.
Knowing what I know now has greatly helped me in my day-day practice by helping me really understand what questions to ask my patient and athletes to identify and deal with any yellow flag issues.
Yellow flag questioning is NOT just trying to identify previous or current mental health issues or social problems.
It’s about identifying barriers that may affect your treatment plan and stop you and your patient getting the end result you are trying to achieve.
In this podcast I will share 3 Vital Yellow Flag Questions that I now ask with every single patient and athlete that I work with.
These questions will not only help you identify possible yellow flags problems…
Problems that if left unaddressed can derail your treatment plan and patient progress..
But help you to tackle these yellow flag issues, all in the very first session.
Enjoy the show!

The New Grad Physio Podcast: 'Recognising Red Flags With Lower Back Pain Patients'
You use your red flag questions to make sure you don’t miss any serious pathology and treat something you shouldn’t.
But despite what many therapists believe…
A positive red flag answer does not mean instant referral to A & E or the need for a second opinion.
Many New Grad’s often tell me they just feel like they go through the motions and ask ‘red flag’ questions just for asking sake…
Unsure about what they might do if the patient did answer YES to any one of those red flag questions!
This podcast episode will help you make sense of your red flag questioning.
It will help you remember what questions, you need to ask…
When you need to be cautious and ask further questions…
And when it is safe to treat.
Enjoy the show!
