If I notice a friend becoming increasingly negative - I will associate them with negativity as a whole even if they only act that way 5% of the time - because I am hyper aware and focused on the behavior I am less aware of the times when they are not. Day 153 || The Struggle is Real
Just because we may have to go to the emergency room for certain injuries - doesn’t mean you want to ignore your splinters. It’s okay to feel down and out - even if the shit you’re feeling down and out about is petty. Usually, the stupidest shit sets me off. If I analyze why I can usually get to the bottom of my reaction and it’s typically triggered by a past experience but it always makes me feel so guilty and terrible when I get emotional over things that are seemingly harmless. Then the guilt sends me in a fun little spiral and we’re feeling extra terrible because of something silly which makes me feel even more ridiculous.
