Digging into the 5 Laws of Success with Bob Burg
Bob Burg is a speaker and author, most known for co-authoring The Go-Giver. The Go-Giver, a Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek Bestseller, has sold over 950,000 copies and was rated #10 on Inc. Magazine’s list of the Most Motivational Books Ever Written.
Early in 2019, I read The Go-Giver for the first time and it changed my life, both professionally and personally. I had the pleasure of speaking with Bob about the 5 Laws of Success he shares in the book and why the first law, The Law of Value, is the ultimate approach to business.
I am confident that no matter who you are and what your role is, you will find tremendous value in this podcast episode.

Finding your Fabulousness with Kyle Elliott
Kyle Elliott is a Career and Life Coach focused on helping people to find their fabulousness. He has served over 1,000 clients to date, been featured in Forbes, Fast Company, The Ladders, and The Muse, is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), and an annual Disneyland Annual Passholder (this is important to him!).
Kyle and I had a fantastic conversation. We have been connected for some time and I have to say he is one of the most consistent people across every place I have engaged with him. I appreciate his passion for people, his joy for his work, and his commitment to do the best he can in everything he does. As we talked, Kyle shared some of the amazing ways in which he helps people find the best career for them (sometimes it’s within the company they already work at). Some of the other topics included:
Why giving advice is not the first job of a coach.
How his upbringing helped positively shape who he is.
The necessity of work/life balance.
Oh, and we dug into why he loves Disneyland so much.
Make sure to give this episode a listen and then connect with Kyle.

Dealing with fakers, defining success, and more with RJM
I reached out to my network to share questions they wanted me to answer.
Here were the 4 I addressed.
How do we continue to use the language of optimism in business, particular as consultants, to gain new clients when it has been co-opted by scammers and fake gurus?
How do you define success?
With your experiences, what are you surprised that you didn’t know early on? Meaning, what’s something that seems super obvious to you now but wasn’t super apparent when you were early on in your career?
What is your opinion on when people say “It’s not personal, just business”?
Check out this latest episode and let me know what you think!

Chantel Soumis is a Brand Sorcerous, a Motivational Keynote Speaker, and an Advocate for the Differently Abled. She’s showing up on a regular basis in major publications, large live events, and all over social media.
Chantel’s life has been one of significant challenge and while those challenges would have shut most people down, it fired Chantel up. She has learned to work through a diagnosis of MS (multiple sclerosis) that has included being a wife, a mommy, and a phenomenal business leader.
Our conversation spans many topics, including dealing with disabilities, utilizing our mind to overcome obstacles and challenges, and why being positive doesn’t negate struggle, hurt, and heartache.
I had a lot of fun in this episode, but we discuss serious topics that are helpful for every single person to hear, whether you are experiencing them yourself or you are walking through them with others.

Fear. Is it good, bad, or something else altogether?
We decided to have a conversation on this topic after a Linked post that John made a few weeks (here – https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnwelch…). We talk about the good things fear produces, the bad things, and ways to work through both sides of it.
John Welches is a close friend and colleague. He is also the Founder of Red Mallard, a content marketing agency located in Orange County.

Building Better Futures with Jennifer Bashant
Jennifer Bashant is the CEO of Building Better Futures, LLC. She is a trainer, coach, and speaker with the mission to empower people to live their best lives. Her work takes her into the corporate world as well as into the education system.
Jennifer and I got right into a few wonderful topics, including:
The importance of learning and understanding people’s gifts and talents in order to showcase them versus looking for their problems and how to address them.
Why intrinsic motivation is the right type of motivation to focus on.
The reason many of the problems addressed at the corporate level are rooted in the education system (and how to work through them).
Finding the proper balance between giving grace for people to learn and grow while pushing people to be the best they can be.
While Jennifer and I spend a considerable amount of time speaking about her work in the education system, these thoughts span across all age levels. We never outgrow the foundational principles necessary to achieve excellence in life and business.

Reflecting on 2019 and preparing for 2020
In this first episode of 2020, I couldn’t help but take some time to reflect on how amazing 2019 was. Now that doesn’t mean that 2019 was all rainbows and unicorns because I was presented with some significant challenges, but what it means was that even through all of that, I am more fulfilled then I’ve ever been.
In this episode, I take some time to share my practices of reflection and vision casting, I share some high highs and low lows and how I dealt with them, and much more.
Above all else, I wanted to take some time to say thank you to each and every person that has listened to an episode of this podcast, has engaged with me on social media, or has in some other way positively contributed to this amazing life that I’m living. And while you’ll hear it on the podcast I’ll say it again….THANK YOU!
Enjoy and here’s to an amazing 2020!
