Jumuah Khutbah 04-07-17
In this intense and thought-provoking lecture, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan shares an important reminder for ourselves and that which is often taken for granted.
He tells us that in the Qur'an, after Allah telling us that we as a Muslim Ummah are brothers and behave sensibly so, the first instruction given to us succeeding that is that we as Muslims of one class and section of people should not make fun of the other section of the community. There are many dimensions of making fun and Ustadh deals with each of them perfectly.
When we make fun of someone thinking someone is your subordinate to you or make someone feel inferior, we are deviating from Islam and invite the wrath of Allah. One of the places that this behavior comes from is our notion of earning far superiorly than the rest.

The Power Of Gratitude
Surah Ar-Rahman is a powerful wake-up call addressing all kinds of people, especially those exercising various degrees of disbelief. When it was revealed in Mecca, explains Nouman Ali Khan, Allah was talking specifically to the Quraish, who, despite having the greatest messenger, speaking to them in their own tongue, continued to mock and attack Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and desecrate the House of Allah. Yet even though Allah is angry at their consistent denial of all the incredible things their master has done for them, He addresses them as âar-rahmanâ, the quintessence of mercy itself. This great surah is a reminder of our place in front of Allah. One day we shall perish without a trace while He, who owns glory and dignity, shall prevail. It is a reminder that our need for Him goes beyond petty, conscious requests for worldly things but that every breath we take and every heartbeat is a manifestation of his loving and caring mercy. Our ingratitude and forgetfulness of Allahâs gifts is the work of shaytan, the enemy in our invisible spiritual war, who can only be defeated through constant gratitude and remembrance of our master.

Jumuah Khutbah 03-24-17
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan delves into the 78th Ayah of Surah Al-Hajj that addresses the Ummah and gives a mandate of struggle.
When we pray do we pray and do it the way Allah deserves? Do we obey and respect as He is worthy? So how is that by giving us an impossible task, how does Allah make it successful? Why have we then been chosen for this task? The answer lies in the Ayat that says that the efforts and struggles one makes in the way of Islam with the constant motive to please Allah will definitely bear fruit and will garner a reward from Allah.
The commandments of our Deen should be followed only for the sake of Allah for it to have a lasting and fruitful impact in Dunya and Akhirah.

Discharging Parental Responsibilities
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan delves into the pertinent and essential topic of being the best version of ourselves whilst we are with our parents and how to effectively discharge parental responsibilities. The Ayats of Surah Al Yusuf are mentioned here and profound words of wisdom which have been immortalized and made timeless in the Quran are uttered by Prophet Yaqub AS and his exemplary role of being a good father.
Allah is demanding from us nothing short of our best when it comes to our parents. We have to be good, patient, merciful, charitable or to have the courtesy to our parents. The status of the parents is second only to the status of Allah SWT.the easiest way to enter Jannah is through obedience to the parents. The widest of Jannah gates are for those who are obedient and good to parents.
When they enter old age, one of them or two of them, we should not abandon them and speak to them in gracious respectable terms. We should not reciprocate anger with anger or reciprocate frustration with frustration. Whatever they use it doesn't matter, we should respond with respect and with gracious words.
Listen intently to this emotional lecture and imbibe the message that comes across.

When Allah Swore By The Stars
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan gives an impactful lecture relating to Surah Al Waqiah and its last part deals with those who are skeptical in light of Deen.
He goes on to cite various examples that illustrate our complete uninhibited dependence on Allah SWT for the smallest of our actions and needs. Yet we choose to adorn the mask of arrogance and vain without realizing that Allah is the provider of sustenance and all this could be taken away with the blink of an eye.
Hence, it is of paramount importance that we fully comprehend the gravity of the Ayats discussed in this lecture and adopt humility and gratitude of the highest degree.
