The Legacy of Ibrahim AS
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan shares with us the legacy of Ibrahim AS to give us an overview of the importance of this matter and towards the end, he shares something from his experience too.
The legacy of Ibrahim AS has been encompassed with many enormous feats that he has accomplished in his lifetime. And when he accomplished all those incredible things at the end of all of them, Allah gave him a certificate. And there is an Ayah in Surah Al Baqarah which is about the certificate. Allah acknowledges that He tested Ibrahim AS thoroughly and at the end of all those tests he completed all of them and at the end of passing all those tests, Allah says to Ibrahim AS, that He was installing him as the Imam over people. Allah was making him a leader over people and a role model for humanity. This is the ultimate certificate and honor and the medal of honor that is being given to Ibrahim AS after he went through some very difficult tests. What a victory! Can anything be bigger in magnitude and stature than when Allah bestows honor upon someone!
Ibrahim AS is tested with his child Ismail AS, his wife and by the people of his time but he emerges unscathed in the wake of numerous adversities. This could be achieved only due to his unwavering belief in Allah and His Deen.
We pray that Allah makes all of sincere in our efforts and reward us for whatever little we have done. May Allah protect us and especially our youth and our future generations that they may become the ambassadors of this Deen throughout the world.

Ramadan Gems 2019 - Night 4 - Prophet Muhammed Part 2
In this concise Ramadhan talk our respected Sheikh talks about the Prophet s.a.w.
In order to appreciate our beloved Prophet s.a.w. we need to go back a bit history to Prophet Ibrahim a.s. because the legacy of our Messenger is tied to the legacy of prophet Ibrahim a.s.
One after the other he was given trials after trials after trials. When he finished all his trials Allah told him he was making him a leader over all people. When this happened the prophet Ibrahim a.s. said “ what about my children”?. The children here he meant were the future ummah.
Allah told him His guarantee was only for those who did good meaning Allah turned him down.
When Ibrahim a.s. and Ismail a.s. built Kaa'ba, Ibrahim a.s. made another Dua. Was this Dua accepted? What was this Dua? Listen to the rest of this talk to discover the answer to this question and thus increase your understanding of Allah and His messengers.

Ramadan Gems 2019 - Night 3 - Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan gives a comprehensive lecture on the Names of Allah - Ar Rahman and Ar Raheem. They are from the same root or etymology - Rahma. The Name of Allah, Ar-Rahman occurs 57 times and the Name of Allah - Ar-Raheem occurs 114 times in the Qur'an. Some differences between Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem are as follows:
Ar-Rahman (Mercy) is for all of His creation, while Ar-Raheem (mercy) is only for the Muslims.
Ar-Rahman's mercy is comprehensive, while Ar-Raheem’s Mercy reaches only those whom He wants to reach.
Ar-Rahman is in this world, while Ar-Raheem is in the Hereafter.
Ar-Rahman describes the nature of Allah, Ar-Raheem describes His actions.
Ar-Rahman and Ar Raheem are those names of Allah that resonate with a profound status, both linked, and are the only two names that are the first verses in the Surahs in the Qur'an.
The Prophet ﷺ says,’The most beloved names to Allah are Abdullah and Abd-ArRahman.’
The Prophet ﷺ said - 'When Allah created the creation, He divided his mercy into 100 parts. 1 has been revealed to this world and because of it, people are merciful to each other. He has saved 99 parts of His Mercy and it will be used on the Day of Judgment.’

Ramadan Gems 2019 - Night 2 - The Name of Prophet Muhammed SAW
Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan elaborates in this beautiful lecture about the name of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
No creation of Allah thanks Allah more than Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He was given a way to praise Allah like no one before. Muhammad means the one who is appreciated and thanked continuously.
The name Muhammad is mentioned 5 times in the Holy Qur'an. But how is the Prophet ﷺ addressed in the Qur'an? The name of the Prophet ﷺ is always succeeded by the word - Rasool.
Allah has declared Muhammad ﷺ not only as the Messenger of Allah but also as the Messenger of character to the Muslim Ummah. No one can belittle the status of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and it is incumbent upon us to follow his teachings even when an Ayah of the Qur'an is not being recited.

Sunrise & Sunset
Nouman Ali Khan reminds us about something which Allah has reminded us in different parts of the Qur'an.
He begins with a detailed analysis and comprehension of the word - SubhanAllah. When is this blessed word uttered? Numerous examples are illustrated by which we decipher aptly its exact meaning.
The concept of the worship of the sun, the moon and stars in the Pre Islamic era is demonstrated. But Prophet Ibrahim AS asked the people of the time how they could worship something that is temporary. The purpose of this was to draw the attention of the people of his time about who is not temporary, and that is Allah SWT.
The next point of discussion is that of how the concept of sunrise and sunset is closely reminiscent is of our state of mind and our heart and different phases of our life.
“By the morning brightness. And [by] the night when it covers with darkness, Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life].”
- Surah Ad Duha, verses 1 - 4
Light and darkness are about our relationship with Allah and He makes us experience different emotional and physical trials, turmoils and tribulations so that we maintain patience and not be despaired, but be hopeful of the Mercy of Allah always.
