Ramadan Gems 2019 - Night 17 - Allah is Al-Qawiyy
Nouman Ali Khan delves into Name of Allah - Al Qawiyy. It is referenced in Surah al-Hajj - 22:73 -

And if the fly should steal away from them a [tiny] thing, they could not recover it from him. Weak are the pursuer and pursued.”
Allah is The Supremely Strong, the One with Inexhaustible Strength. Allah is the One whose strength is supreme, the One who possesses unlimited strength and endurance, the One whose vigor and strength prevail over all of creation, the One who is beyond all weakness and The One whose strength is inexhaustible.

Ramadan Gems 2019 - Night 16 - Commentary on Muhammad SAW in Surah Al-Jumuah
“Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is exalting Allah, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. It is He who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom - although they were before in clear error.”
- Surah Al Jumuah, verses 1 and 2
Nouman Ali Khan delves deep into the meaning of these verses and which is aimed at the Noble Prophet ﷺ.
This verse begins with four of the Names of Allah - Al Malik, Al Quddoos, Al Azeez and Al Hakeem. After describing His attributes, He goes on to elaborate that He has appointed Muhammad ﷺ who is unlettered but he has to recite His Verses unto them and purify them, teach them the law (what is allowed and what is not) and then teach them the wisdom.
What is the proof that Allah had sent the Noble Prophet of the Islamic faith ﷺ? The validation is the Qur'an which gives proof of this.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recorded a testimony on the Day of Judgement - the Qur'an was abandoned. What does this mean? The Qur'an which came for the purposes mentioned above and we as an Ummah have failed to adapt or abide by any of these purposes.

Ramadan Gems 2019 - Night 15 - Allah is Ash-Shakoor
Nouman Ali Khan delivers an enlightening lecture on the Name of Allah - Ash Shakoor.
Allah calls Himself Ash-Shakoor which means He is the Most-Appreciative, the Most Grateful, the Rewarder of Good Works. He is the One who gives abundantly in response to little and appreciates the smallest deeds with an unlimited appreciation.
Allah says - “That He may give them in full their rewards and increase for them of His bounty. Indeed, He is Forgiving and Appreciative.
[Surah Fatir, verse 30]
We can derive benefits from this name to imbibe and inculcate the attributes in our lives by doing the following:
Don’t expect anything in return from others for whatever you have done to make their life easier.
Do good deeds no matter how small or trivial they seem at the time.
Be patient and sincere.
Be grateful.
Appreciate people.
Call upon Ash-Shakoor and He will surely respond to us.

When we turn to Allah in humility and submissiveness and advocating complete Tawakkul in Him by making Dua to him in continuity, we invoke the pleasure of Allah. No matter how difficult the road ahead is and no matter the number of challenges, the solution lies within us which is to call onto Allah and hope in complete positivity that Allah will surely answer our prayers.

Ramadan Gems 2019 - Night 9 - Astagfirullah
Nouman Ali Khan delivers a beautiful lecture on the essential topic of Istighfar.
The lecture begins with a comparison between Adam AS and Iblees. Adam AS and Iblees violated the commandments of Allah. But what differentiates them is what transpires after the sin has been committed? What were the key points of differentiation between the two?
How do we attain forgiveness of our sins? Nobody is perfect and everyone commits sins. So, we should take respite in the fact that Allah says that the best of the sinners are those who repent and seek the Mercy of Allah SWT. Allah loves the repentance of the sinner. If were to compile a list of the Names of Allah, the majority of the Attributes of Allah demonstrates the Mercy of Allah. Allah tells us to never be disheartened by our sins, as Allah says that He forgives all sins regardless of their nature. Assuming that Allah cannot forgive you is possibly the biggest sin that one can commit. We are in fact challenging Allah that He might not encompass you in His Infinite Mercy, Astaghfirullah. How can we then give up hope of forgiveness of Allah?
