Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com, drops by for his weekly visit to talk Seahawks football.  They jump right into the disaster of the football game that the loss to the Buffalo Bills.  The majority of the show they concentrated their time on the offensive line and why for the last ten years has it been a problem for Seattle?  They will not reach their goals as a team until they fix those issues up front.  Rob revisits past drafts to highlight the issues with their drafts and looks at free agents that they could have landed instead of other players that they ultimately signed.  Both agree that John Schneider is a great GM, but both also agree that he has failed miserably in rebuilding and developing the OL.  The Seahawks will have big decisions to make in the offseason with personnel and one of those conversations will be what to do with Geno Smith?   They obviously need a QB, but is Smith worth the massive price tag.  Also, there will be free agents available like Sam Darnold. Is he worth taking a look at?  At the end of the QB discussion, Puck brings up one more name that will be a free agent at the end of the season and that would be Russell Wilson.  Would you bring Wilson back next year?  Puck puts Rob on the spot to answer that question. 

On Wednesday’s Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett was joined by Jim Moore, The Go-2-Guy, who joins PuckSports.com every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from his home in Bend, Oregon. Puck and Jim pick up with a story from Puck that the two were taking off the air about, in regards to Puck’s encounter with an angry dog owner on a baseball field.   Puck has given him the moniker, “Seattle Entitled”, and he told Jim how the dog owner became upset at Puck when he asked him to leave the field because his dogs kept stealing their baseballs. John Canzano, from JohnCanzano.comdrops by for his weekly visit to chat about all things college football.  Puck and John start off the segment talking about the inexact science of college football polls and why they are so meaningless to begin a college football season. The problem with the polls is that they influence the way the media portrays certain teams. John is a Heisman voter, if John voted today, who would he give it too?  Puck agrees with John’s pick.  Do the Cougars have a realistic shot at the College Football playoffs?  John is more optimistic than Puck…shocker!  They also talk about the situation at Penn State with head coach James Franklin. How come coaches and schools can’t handle their public relations and communications better?  Finally, John has new information on the Pac-12 reaching a deal with Octagon, a national company that will try and secure the Pac-12 a new media rights deal. 

Danny Kelly, The Ringer, stops on by to chat about the NFL, Seahawks and to answer your fantasy football questions.  Danny and Puck talk more about Wilson and both agree that he looked great on Monday against the Giants and agreed that no player believes in himself more than Russell Wilson.  Puck and Danny try to figure out what’s wrong with the Seahawks defense. How can they be worse than they were last year?  Are we starting to feel nervous about the Macdonald era or do we need to be patient with the new head coach?  Have you had enough of Hail Mary talk?  Puck and Danny are over the Commanders Hail Mary play breakdown on all the talking shows on TV. Listen, it was a Hail Mary. It was lucky. Move on!  Danny offers his fantasy football advice on a waiver wire Tuesday.  Lastly, a new feature for Puck and Danny, they put a player, coach, or team on the “Barge” each week.  Last week they put the 49ers on it, but they have decided to rescue the Niners from the “Barge” after their win against Dallas.  This week, Danny put Seahawks center Conner Williams on the Barge and Puck went with Colts QB Anthony Richardson for taking himself out of the game last week.

“Ground Puck Seahawks Podcast” with Tim Booth, Seattle Times and Curtis Crabtree, FOX 13 recap the Seahawks loss to the Buffalo Bills, 31-10. Issues still plague the Seahawks, they can’t run the ball, they can’t stop the run and they are sloppy and unprepared.  Why are the Seahawks having so many issues with the offensive and defensive lines and why are they so undisciplined? Did the boys feel like Riq Woolen made a great effort in preventing the Dalton Kincade touchdown?  Do they like the boy language being displayed from Geno Smith.  How far off is this football team right now because standings wise they are right there with all the other teams in their division. The Seahawks can’t run the football because of their offensive line. How do they change their strategy with Walker?  They just need to start incorporating him into the passing game. 

Today’s Daily Puck Drop with Jason “Puck” Puckett, welcomes Jim Moore, the “Go-2-Guy” to the show for the first hour and then Curtis Crabtee, FOX 13 and Tim Booth, Seattle Times join for the final thirty minutes for the “Ground Puck Seahawks Podcast.” Puck and Jim go over the game and Puck highlights the effort or lack of effort from Riq Woolen on the TD before the half for the Bills that summed up the game and effort for him. They also touched in on the behavior and sideline demeanor for Geno Smith.  You understand the QB is upset and frustrated but he has to behave better. He’s the leader of the team. Despite the Seahawks losing in the fashion that they did, they did at times have a shot to take control of the game but self inflicted issues prevented them from doing so. The defense continues to be an issue and so far through eight games under Mike Macdonald they are no better than they were a year ago with Pete Carroll. After wrapping up the Seahawks, Puck and Jim turn their attention to the Cougs who defeated San Diego State over the weekend an no are ranked #22 in the country.  They didn’t look great, but they did improve to 7-1 and will be favored in every game the rest of the way and have a great shot to go 11-1 and an outside, very outside shot of sneaking into the College Football Playoff discussion. Before Jim leaves, he and Puck make a $100 bet on the Steelers and Giants game on Monday night. Chris talks at great length what Tony meant to him in his career, especially early on. The conversation than turns toward youth sports and the demand that parents have on having their kids play multiple sports during the same season. Isn’t one sport enough and isn’t unfair to the coaches involved? Puck thinks the kids and parents need to pick one and stay with that one during the season. Finally, with Halloween less than a week away, Egan gives his top five Halloween candies.
