171: Talking Stick - Amazement
Beyond joy. Beyond gratefulness is Amazement. That feeling you get when you stand at the foot of the Grand Tetons. Or on the rim of the Grand Canyon. Or hold a newborn baby in your hands. Or look up at fireworks exploding above your head. A slight taking away of the breath and yet it gives you life. Feeling humbled by it all yet inspired to be bigger. There's something about amazement that it almost always feels so expansive and so open to possibility. In that moment we can feel small in the face of amazement yet so a part of the bigger picture. We need more amazement in our lives. Go out and find some. See the amazement in everyday moments. And enjoy your 4th of July celebration.

169: John Cawley - Cause Marketing
Cause Marketing Inspiration and purpose are usually staring us right in the face. Tapping into both takes innovation, grit and a personal connection to solving a significant problem for others. Today's guest has that along with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a will to create lasting impact. John Cawley is a serial entrepreneur living a tale of redemption by turning something ordinary into something extraordinary that you wear almost every day into a meaningful tool to inspire you and everyone that you meet. Your socks! What's most interesting is what inspired him, how he's personally connected to this purpose and what taking a gamble on something that he felt would be a service to others. His initial goals has taken on a life of its own and creating impact well beyond what he even imagined. To me that's proof, he is living a life directly connected to his purpose. On a side note, I'm a huge fan of Inspyr Socks and wear them every opportunity I have to swap my flip flops for socks. If you ever see me speak on stage, just know I am always wearing socks with an inspiring message. 168: Talking Stick - Compel Don't Tell
No one likes a know it all. Don't we all want to get away from the person at a party that goes on and on about themselves? Don't be that person as a business. Don't tell prospective clients about yourself. Compel them, magnetize them, fascinate them. At least at first. Think of it as flirtation. Get their attention. Use your smoothest moves. Then, once interested, you can tell people about yourself. I provide some specific examples in three areas that you most want to concentrate on being compelling--marketing, networking, and branding. 165: Talking Stick- Doing Your Best and Sometimes Not
I've always hated the typical business advice "don't take it personally." As Creative Warriors it IS personal. We are always trying to do our best. We care deeply about what we create and the outcome we produce. How can we not take that personal? Which is why it's so challenging when we feel we haven't done as good a job as we'd like. In this episode, I share my thoughts on what to focus on to do your best job possible, what your "real" job is, and how to handle it when the results aren't what you hoped for. We all have those moments. "Dwell as near as possible to the channel in which your life flows."-Henry David Thoreau The Talking Stick is in your hands now. Let us hear from you.
