PRP Injections for Hair Loss, Does It Work?

In the last several years, medical specialists have started using platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections to address both skin rejuvenation and hair loss for men and women. Hair loss can often be associated with loss of blood flow to the scalp. PRP, which is "spun up" from your own blood, is a relatively safe and natural way to stimulate hair growth or collagen production in the skin. Results vary, but with minimal side effects and relatively low cost, PRP treatment is worth investigating. https://drruscio.com/?p=27839 My new book is finally available: Healthy Gut, Healthy You. Improving Memory Through Proper Exposure to Light

New scientific findings show that natural light, and light bulbs which closely mimic natural light, are closely tied to optimal memory formation. Light anchors the timing of our circadian rhythms, impacting sleep. The better you sleep, the better you encode memory. Indoor light bulbs which have less natural tones and brightness can have a detrimental effect on memory. Even if you optimize your indoor conditions, it's important to get outside regularly. Technology that pulses light shows promise if you're a jet-lagged traveler, shift worker, or someone who stays out late on weekends. https://drruscio.com/?p=27834 My new book is finally available: Healthy Gut, Healthy You. How To Get Off Thyroid Medication

When you're sick and want to feel better, options like taking medication seem rather attractive. One thing to be aware of, is the over-prescribing of thyroid medication. Many people do not need to be on Thyroid medication for life or at all. Unfortunately, over-diagnosis is becoming too common. One study looking at the overuse of Levothyroxine Replacement Therapy, found that 60% of those on LT4 did not need to be taking it. The study concluded that the diagnosis needs to be more firmly established before treatment initiation and to undertake periodic evaluation of all patients on chronic LT4 treatment. https://drruscio.com/?p=27634 My new book is finally available: Healthy Gut, Healthy You. Could Herbicides be Causing SIBO and Gluten Sensitivity with Dr. Greg Nigh

Dr. Nigh explains how and why glyphosate could be one of the causes of SIBO. Glyphosate has a way of interrupting the bodies natural process of converting sulfur into sulfate. The body adapts by calling on bacteria to do the job which can lead to an overgrowth of bacteria otherwise known as SIBO. https://drruscio.com/?p=26949 We touch on gluten sensitivity and the Europe phenomenon – why some people find it easier to consume gluten in Europe than here in the states. We also discuss sulfur sensitivity as a cause of inflammation and digestive distress. Many healthy foods contain sulfur so while it may be counterintuitive to remove them from your diet, the bottom line is … if you are symptomatic, it's worth trying a low-sulfur diet for a week to see if you notice an improvement.
