You Are Exactly Where You Are Supposed To Be
— You are exactly where you are supposed to be right now. There's no schedule that you must follow. Your life is exactly on schedule. Live your life in harmony, not fear. You have a choice to be depressed about the past, worried about the future, or being calm in the present. Nothing is real. It's all in your mind. We're in this game of life together, and we are here for the thrill of the ride, not to fix something that is broken. Let's make it an exhilarating experience! Valeria Teles interviews Jocelyne Grzela — the author of "Life Is Just A Ride!: A Map To Help You Remember The Truth That Is Already Inside You ." Born and raised in a small town in Northern Ontario, Canada, Jocelyne Grzela grew up in a loving family of thirteen children, of which she is the youngest. Though she initially pursued a career as a school teacher, Jocelyne's search for the mysteries of life, the universe, and our place in it, led her on many different paths. She later worked as a radio broadcaster, an office manager, and business owner. Jocelyne moved from Canada to the United States in 1989. She obtained her Hypnotherapist and Past Life Regression Therapist certification from the Association for Research and Enlightenment in Virginia Beach, VA in 2001. She ran a successful practice in Florida from 2001 to 2004, then in Colorado from 2004 to 2005. During this period, she also conducted several workshops on meditation, hypnosis, and reincarnation. Her desire to make a difference, combined with her entrepreneurial spirit, opened the way for her to co-create a tropical rainforest replanting business in 2005, but following an unexpected series of events, Jocelyne moved back to her native country in 2010. She continues to share her gems of wisdom with those who are put on her path. She lives in Ottawa, Ontario. Realizing Our Fullest Potential — Living An Authentic Life
— Our highest purpose for each of us is to realize our fullest potential by living our most authentic life—unapologetically, in color, and out loud. But we all face barriers between imagining what that life looks like and then actually living it. Those barriers come in all shapes and sizes. Some are mere hurdles, while others are brick walls. These are the boxes we find ourselves in. We started building them at different times and for different reasons. We had different tools at our disposal. The world can be an overwhelming and unpredictable place, and we use these coping mechanisms and mental constructs to deal with and make sense of it all. Some are healthy, and some are destructive. Just as each person's journey is unique, so are the boxes we live in. Valeria Teles interviews Wendy Tamis Robbins — the author of "The Box: An Invitation to Freedom from Anxiety." Wendy Tamis Robbins is a lawyer by day, writer by night, and a "professional panic attacker." Despite near-crippling anxiety, she worked her way through Dartmouth College and law school before, in her 30s, she set her mind to overcoming the anxiety and panic attacks that increasingly limited her life. For the past 20 years she has worked in corporate finance, creating and preserving affordable housing and lending to underserved communities. Anxiety Is A Natural Emotion
— Have you ever felt anxious? Of course, you have. Anxiety is a natural emotion. It is also one of the biggest "disorders" within mental health. Anxiety is vital. You should feel anxious in certain situations; it's what keeps us alive. Anxiety is what we feel when our body's sense of perceived threat is awakened. When we are in a potentially dangerous situation, our body reacts – our senses are keener, blood pressure and heart rate increase, thoughts may be racing, we feel a little shaky. If there is potential danger that turns into real danger, these bodily reactions are what put us in the flight, fight, freeze mode to keep us alive. Our bodies are in sympathetic dominance. If we are not really in danger, it is better to bring our bodies into parasympathetic dominance. Bringing the heart rate back to normal, bringing the blood pressure back to normal, loosening the muscles in our bodies, etc. This is a very hard thing to do when someone is constantly perceiving danger and constantly in a state of anxiety. You've been told to "just calm down." or "relax." This seems so simple, but is so very elusive to those with chronic anxiety. So, is there really anything we can do to bring our bodies into parasympathetic dominance without medication? The answer is YES! Valeria Teles interviews Meg Young — a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, And Speaker Meg Young focus is on restoring and strengthening the sense of purpose among burnt out helping professionals. She is licensed in CT and FL and has worked in drug rehab, inpatient psychiatric care, in-home therapy with adolescents and their families, and has been in private practice since 2014. She knew that she wanted to help people through trauma recovery since 1992 when she went through Hurricane Andrew in Miami. Since then, she's had many "areas" of interest, but all were in the area of trauma recovery. While she worked in a psychiatric hospital, she started to notice the burnout in professionals which kick started that part of her career. She started talking to people about this and going to trainings on understanding burnout. Then several years ago, she had a police officer come to her which REALLY interested her. She's had a lot of experience with first responders throughout her life, some friends, and some after natural or manmade disasters, but never saw the despair many of them deal with internally. She saw this client's passion come back and the darkness subside and knew she wanted to work with this population. Travelling The Inner And Outer Worlds With Love
— You must heal the disowned shadow parts of yourself that sabotage your best efforts. Now is the ideal time to bring these parts to light - love and heal them. Let yourself become lighter and freer through this inner work. You will be happy to see the patterns that have been holding you back, recognizing that you can take the reins and be in control of your destiny. Remember that the outer is a reflection of your inner world. You need to focus more inwardly and find empowerment. Don't forget that other people mirror aspects of yourself within. Don't fall into unconsciousness, believing that the other person is wrong in order to make yourself right. There can be no right/wrong when there is no one outside of Self. Love and oneness are the keys to heal and grow. Valeria Teles interviews Tianna Roser — the author of "Awakening Transformation." Exploring The Depth Of Burnout & Heights Of Self-Care
— "People will disappoint you, life will hurt you, but if you have something that is completely yours to invest in, something you are passionate about, you can rise above pain and find personal joy and connection." Valeria Teles interviews Sarakay Smullens — the author of "Burnout And Self-Care In Social Work: A Guidebook For Students And Those In Mental Health And Related Professions — 2nd Edition." SaraKay Smullens has had a multifaceted career in social work. Upon her return to working with families suffering from neglect and abuse, she learned that mentors she had earlier relied upon were leaving the field, explaining they were "burned the hell out," and identifying the cause as "professional burnout." The year was 2005. "At that time, burnout was not the household word it is today," Smullens said. "I had never heard the term before, had no understanding of what it meant, or its differences from depression. I immediately began research, beginning to present findings in 2010." Through this work, she realized that burnout can originate personally, professionally, in relationships, as well as physically. She identified burnout causation, and the easily recognized signs and signals that burnout is in the wings or already here. Smullens published the first edition of "Burnout and Self-Care" in 2015. It became a best seller. "I learned that students recommended the book to their professors and to their supervisors," she said. "I also learned that professionals who were not social workers — teachers, lawyers, doctors, school counselors, moms, volunteer professionals, etc. — found the book's content and explanations relevant in their own lives." Evidence-based self-care approaches to alleviate and prevent burnout are described for each of the 5 arenas, as are the differences between burnout and depression. Attention is also given to psycho-social developmental factors in the life of each child, as well as the impact of both moral distress and dysfunctional leadership in our personal, relational, professional, and societal-political worlds. Soulmates: Going Beyond The Love Story
— The best universal definition of a soulmate is feeling deeply connected to another person but not in a dependent or needy way. Your soulmate is your fellow traveler on the journey of life—you need one another to grow beyond the limitations of your individual selves. The guiding principle in a relationship between soulmates is that needs are equally met because a soulmate relationship should challenge you to move from selfishness to giving. The signs you've met your soulmate are kind of infinite and can overlap with the different kinds of soulmates you encounter in your lifetime. An important truth about relationships is that you have to create love and nurture soulmate connections. Love isn't delivered to us because we believe we deserve it. We must work at being loving and then we'll receive love in return. Valeria Teles interviews Dr. Michael Tobin — the author of "Riding the Edge, A Love Song to Deborah." — The book chronicles a six-month transformative journey in 1980 when Deborah, an Arab American, and Michael, an American Jew, bicycled across Europe, Lebanon, and Israel where they confronted the challenges of love, war, and identity. Dr. Michael Tobin has been a marital and family psychologist for 45 years. He's been with his life partner, soulmate, and wife, Deborah, for 47 years. They are the parents of four and the grandparents of 14. He is the founder of the award-winning website, www.wholefamily.com where you can find numerous articles about relationships. He is also the author of a book on marital affairs. Dr. Michael has been an author and playwright since he was twelve when he wrote a monumental play about the Warsaw Ghetto uprising that had over 20,000 actors on stage at one time. For logistical reasons it was never produced. On his way to becoming a psychologist, he was a former US Army officer, glacier climber, marathon runner, and restauranteur. He also claims to be the first entrepreneur to introduce granola to Connecticut. Why Do Some Of Us Fear Success?
— Why would we have a fear of success? Isn't success not something we all want? Well, yes, but turns out, you only want it consciously. Subconsciously, you want something else: To maintain identity and keep yourself alive. In fact, this need to preserve your identity is so strong that your subconscious has no problem sabotaging you to meet that need. The subconscious is often more primitive than your conscious brain. It is not sophisticated enough to understand exceptions. It forms general rules and then protects them dearly justifying it by thinking if it kept you alive this long then they must be treated with the utmost importance. With hypnotherapy, you can get answers from the subconscious and understand the unconscious influences and childhood experiences specific to you and your fear of success. Once we bring them to the surface, we can debunk them to reverse the programming. It is one of the best gifts we can give ourselves to free us from these distorted fears. Valeria Teles interviews Saman Nasir — a Healer, Meditation Coach, Certified Hypnotherapist, A Member Of The American Hypnosis Association, Instructor At The Hypnosis Motivation Institute, And Speaker Saman Nasir is also an instructor at the Hypnosis Motivation Institute which offers a 720-Hour Clinical Hypnotherapy Program accredited by ACCET and represents the most extensive hypnotherapy training available anywhere today. When she graduated, she was invited to give a talk on how hypnosis deepens the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. As she was giving a talk on this topic, the dean of HMI college was so impressed that he offered her a career as an instructor which she gladly accepted. Today, she helps other hypnotherapy students and up and coming hypnotherapists perfect their craft as an instructor in various hypnotherapy classes and workshops.
