I Love Group Rides...All The Asterisks

Full blog over here: https://www.evoq.bike/blog/2019/6/13/when-is-a-cycling-group-ride-appropriate For many riders, group rides are what they live for. The camaraderie, the enjoyment of going fast in a pack, beating your friends up a climb or for the town line sprint, and the post ride get together. These are all fun and exciting ways to enjoy riding your bicycle, but it isn’t always the best training. Before you say, “But I don’t want to train and lose my love for riding”, read on. This post is for cyclists looking to optimize the time that they spend on the bike, and get faster, while still having fun.

The Workout That I Shouldn't Have Been Skipping

Hint: Overspeed Have you done these? Comment YES or NO below!  Full Blog here: https://www.evoq.bike/blog/underspeed... Challenge your neuromuscular connection by riding outside of your comfortable cadence today.  Power range is 90-98% FTP. If you feel good push a little harder than tempo, BUT THE FOCUS IS ON CADENCE. Prioritize cadence over watts, I can't stress this enough.  Warm up and then 4 x 10m on, with 5m recovery between.  Interval 1 and 3 are Underspeed with cadence at 50-60 RPM. Interval 2 and 4 are Overspeed, with cadence at 105-115 RPM.

VO2Max Cycling Intervals: tabata or classic?

Full blog: http://evoq.bike/blog/2020/1/13/what-... There are a LOT of blog posts about “What is VO2Max in cycling” and all of the science behind what VO2Max entails, so I will NOT be going into that in this post.  What we want to look at is how to increase your VO2Max in cycling.   What intervals should you be doing to increase your cycling VO2Max?  VO2Max is when you are going VERY HARD for longer than about 1.5 minutes or so.   VO2Max is when you are panting for air, and there is absolutely NO WAY you’re having any type of conversation.  Said differently, it’s when you’re trying to drop someone. So, what VO2Max workouts can you do to start dropping your friends? Read on at the link above!  Email me with questions or comment below! Please share with one friend if you like this post!
