The bright lights and festive songs promise joy, but behind the scenes, life might feel messy, exhausting, and overwhelming. When weariness weighs down your mind, body, and spirit, it's natural to default to the easiest option—often kind of numb survival that distances you from what really matters. Yet, you can still find joy when life feels messy. You get out of life what you put into it. That "harvest" is the joy and peace that come from holding steady through life's storms. But what if you're too tired to keep going? What if the mess is drowning out the music and dimming the lights? It's okay to acknowledge that struggle. Faith isn't about perfection or having it all together. It's about choosing to see the blessings even when life's mess tries to convince you otherwise. How do you still make an impact, even in the chaos? Here's the truth: You don't have to lose who you are this Christmas just because the world feels wild. Impact isn't about changing the whole planet in one swipe. It's about doing what matters most in the circles you touch — your family, friends, neighbors, church, colleagues, and community. You are meant for more. But you must be willing to find harmony in the spinning. The K.I.S.S. ~ Find harmony in the spinning! The craziness and chaos do not stop just because you wish them to. It requires you to find a way to slow down so you spin your wheels less. Here are three powerful ways to see straight when the world feels dizzy—and to let your light shine steadily, no matter the season. 1. Take Control of Your Mindset, Even if You Can't Control the World Chaos and noise outside don't have to dictate your inner world. You always control your attitude and your choices—those are your real superpowers. Paul nailed it in Philippians 4:8: "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." Make your mind a fortress of hope and gratitude, especially when everything seems upside down. Example: Start each morning by listing three things you're grateful for. This simple act re-centers your focus and sets the tone for the day, no matter how out of control the world gets. 2. Simplify Your Holidays to Highlight What Truly Matters The holidays don't need to be a never-ending checklist of parties, gifts, and stress. Too often, we lose sight of the core of the season: connection, generosity, and reflection. What feeds your soul? You don't want to leave out the most important things. So stop overlooking what you value during this holiday season. Put what feeds your soul at the top of the list. The rest? Cut loose. Example: Pick two or three traditions that bring real joy and let the rest go. Maybe it's a quiet family dinner, a volunteer day, singing Christmas carols, reading the Bible, or just giving yourself time to unplug. When you strip away the excess, the good stuff shines brighter. 3. Make Small Acts of Love Your Holiday Impact You don't have to fix the vast swirling problems of the world. What matters is the difference you make right where you are—with small, intentional acts that ripple outward. Mother Teresa said it best: "Not all of us can do great things. At some point, you have to figure out how to cut through the noise, silence the chaos, and turn up the volume of "I can." But you know that takes commitment. Trim your thoughts, not the tree. Here's the thing: It's not the physical decorations or the packed schedules weighing you down. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Your mind is your most powerful tool, but left unchecked, it becomes your biggest obstacle. Trimming your thoughts means renewing your mind. It's a radical choice to take control of your inner narrative, shift the story you tell yourself, and create space for hope, clarity, and action. The K.I.S.S. ~ Trim your thoughts to renew your mind! Here are three practical ways to start: 1. Identify and Cut Out Toxic Thought Patterns You can't prune what you don't see. Start by becoming a ruthless thought detective. When negativity pops up—whether it's fear, "I'm not enough," or overwhelm—call it out. Bring that truth into the light. Philippians 4:8 tells us to focus on what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, and excellent. Ask yourself: Does this thought align with that? If not, it's dead weight. Toss it.
