Murder Monday: John List & His Almost Perfect Crime

John Emil List was an American murderer and long-time fugitive. On November 9, 1971, List killed his wife, mother, and three children at their home in Westfield, New Jersey, and then disappeared; he had planned the murders so meticulously that nearly a month passed before anyone suspected that anything was amiss. Shit Out of Luck: Capture of Dennis Nilsen

Known in the press as the Muswell Hill Murderer, Scottish-born serial killer Dennis Nilsen tormented young men and boys who lived in the North London area from 1978 to 1983. Nilsen is believed to have murdered at least 12 people, although he confessed to having closer to 15 or 16 victims, many of whom may have been homeless or otherwise vulnerable, according to The Sun. His killing spree began in late 1978, while he was living at 195 Melrose Avenue in North London. Nilsen would often pick up his victims in pubs. He would convince them to come back with him to his home, where he would strangle them, and eventually burn or bury their bodies in the back garden... Dennis Nilsen was sentenced to life imprisonment on six counts of murder and two charges of attempted murder. He remained imprisoned at Full Sutton maximum security prison until his death in 2018.  SPONSORS: PodDecks: www.poddecks.com - PromoCode Larry21 for 10% off your order Hunt A Killer: www.huntakiller.com - Promo Code TCNS for 20% off your first box DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST ON ALL MAJOR PODCAST PLATFORMS. The Assassination of Benazir Bhutto

This week on True Crime Never Sleeps season finale, we dive into the Assassination of Benazir Bhutto, former Prime Minister of Pakistan. On the morning of 27 December 2007, Bhutto met with Afghan President Hamid Karzai. In the afternoon, she gave a speech at a PPP rally held in Rawalpindi's Liaquat National Bagh. On leaving in a bulletproof vehicle, she opened the car's escape hatch and stood up to wave to the surrounding crowds. A man standing within two to three meters of the car fired three gunshots at her and detonated a suicide vest packed with ball bearings. Bhutto was fatally injured; reports differ as to whether she was hit by bullets or by shrapnel from the explosion. Child Star Judith Barsi Murdered by Her Own Father in Horrifying Double Homicide

If you were a child of the 80s, you might remember an animated film called All Dogs Go to Heaven. Its theatrical release in 1989 was overshadowed by The Little Mermaid, which came out on the same day. Nevertheless, the VHS release was a huge success, which is how I came to watch this movie on repeat every Saturday morning growing up. This film is about a fun-loving, fast-talking dog who is murdered by his former friend. Instead of going to Heaven, he cons his way into staying on Earth so that he can avenge his death. Along the way, he teams up with colorful characters, including a sweet orphan girl who teaches him about kindness, friendship, and love. The film’s ending credits song “Love Survives” was dedicated to Judith Barsi, the young actress who played the orphan girl. As a child, I had no idea what this dedication meant. Years later, I was shocked and saddened to learn that All Dogs Go to Heaven was Judith’s last film before she and her mother were murdered by her father in a double murder-suicide. Shit Out of Luck: How Niels Högel Was Finally Captured

As a teenager, Niels Högel decided he would follow in his family's footsteps: Like his father and his grandmother, he would become a nurse. But, unlike his relatives, he would use the workplace to satisfy his curiosity about — perhaps even thirst for — death. And by the time his world came crashing down around him, Högel would become known as the most prolific serial killer in the history of modern Germany. The Assassination of Yitzhak Rabin

The assassination of Israeli Prime Minister and Defence Minister Yitzhak Rabin was the culmination of an anti-violence rally in support of the Oslo peace process. Rabin was disparaged personally by right-wing conservatives and Likud leaders who perceived the Oslo peace process as an attempt to forfeit the occupied territories and a capitulation to Israel's enemies. Join us as we dive into the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin on a new episode of the True Crime Never Sleeps Podcast. Murder Monday: The Murder of Kathy Woodhouse

When Illinois State Police arrived at Fox’s Laundry, they found it empty with no one manning the front desk. But after moving through to the staff area, they were horrified to discover the bloody body of 40-year-old employee Kathy Ann Woodhouse. Crime scene technician Kenneth Otey would later testify that Kathy was found face down near the furnace, naked apart from a bra. There was a substantial wound to her head and a metal mop wringer was found discarded on the floor that was consistent with the damage inflicted.
