179 Support Your Nervous System Through Anxiety
Do you suffer from anxiety, nervousness, or critical inner voices? Have you experienced your share of trauma? I've had a lot of crappy stuff happen in my life. I've had traumas, both "little t and big T traumas," and I'm sure you have, too. I also have a history of anxiety. In today's episode I'm going to share with you some of my journey with anxiety and the tools I use to manage it so that you can learn and use them as well. I talk about: Stress responses and trauma responses in our bodies The importance of setting aside space in our days for ourselves Moving the stress and anxiety physically out of our bodies Slowing down to reduce reactivity Listening to and learning from the inner voices Thanks for listening, love! 177 The "Too Much" Episode
As women we have so many pressures put upon us from society, from friends or family members or coworkers, from the media, about not being enough… Not thin enough or young enough or rich enough or curvy enough, and so on! At the same we're often afraid of being too much! What will others think if we show up as the big, bold woman we truly desire to be? This fear of being thought of as too much holds so many women back, and there is a reason based in evolutionary biology for why we have this fear. In today's episode I talk about: What it means to be "too much" Why many people feel threatened when a woman is "too much" How I support clients to take up more space and not worry about being "too much" How my new program, Goddess Unleashed, supports women in being "too much" To register for the free 1-hour event, Women's Global Happiness Day, held at noon and 8 pm ET on Monday, October 18, go to: https://carinrockind.com/wghd2021/ To learn more about Goddess Unleashed, and to sign up, please go to: http://purposegirl.com/unleashed

176 Be a Goddess Unleashed!
As women we have leashed ourselves to the fear that if we shine too brightly we'll make others feel bad, or that they'll judge us for it, or that we'll fail and look stupid, or that we won't be loved. We've put this leash around our own necks, or we haven't removed the leash that society has put on us, and so we tend to play small. My own leash used to be the belief that if others saw my imperfections, if I didn't have the body or the husband or the job they wanted me to have, that I wouldn't be loved. What is your own leash? I have programs that help women uncover their purpose, and that help them launch a purpose-based business, but what I've learned is that the first step to any of this is unleashing ourselves, setting ourselves free. And so I'm thrilled to announce a new program, Goddess Unleashed, to truly help women to break free of what leashes them and finally live free as the wise, wild goddess that is within them. In today's episode I talk about the four steps to unleashing: Say Goodbye to the Good Girl Rise and Alchemize Claim the Wise, Wild Woman inside Live as Her And whether or not you join Goddess Unleashed, you do NOT want to miss this episode! 175 Rewiring Our Brains FOR Us
Sister, I hate to break it to you but "bad" decisions are just part of life. You dated the person who wasn't good for you. You stayed in the job that you hated with the terrible boss. You got into the numbing out cycle of addiction. You keep looking for something outside yourself for validation and love. Well, Sister, I'm here today with an incredible guest to talk about accepting all these parts of ourselves - and then choosing to shift them into purpose. Melissa Monte considers herself a guinea pig for bad decisions. And today she has a wildly successful business and podcast that helps us to turn our lives around when we tune in and find ourselves in a place we don't want for ourselves. Today, Melissa and I are talking about: How we can find ourselves feeling lost after experiencing trauma, and how when we don't address those things they come out in other ways, and how we can then rewire our brains FOR our own benefit. Melissa's personal story of growth, and how she realized she was in a better place after a series of traumatic events but that she was not much happier. And then, of course, what she did about that! How Melissa turned some of the most traumatic things that have ever happened to her - like going to jail for someone else's crime - into her purpose. What analysis paralysis is and how we can get out of that cycle. How to go inside and investigate the feelings and emotions we have without it being so scary (hint, it's never not scary...) And so much more. About Melissa Monte: Melissa Monte is a mindset coach and host of the podcast Mind Love. After spending a decade being what she calls a "guinea pig for bad decisions," she became obsessed with learning what makes us humans tick. Now she teaches people the tools that turned her life around. Through raw stories and inspiring interviews, her podcast Mind Love highlights the incredible role of the mind in creating a life you love waking up for. Learn more about Melissa and her work here. 174 Good Girl Syndrome
One of the biggest things that hold back women from truly living their purpose is falling prey to the Good Girl Syndrome, saying yes when we mean no, agreeing to do things we don't really want to do, suppressing our own wants and needs in order to do what others ask or expect of us. In today's episode we're blowing up the Good Girl Syndrome so we can step into being the wise, wild, unleashed woman that we were born to be. How to know if you have Good Girl Syndrome Get clear on how being a Good Girl is impacting you and your life What to do if you're a people pleaser, you "should" all over yourself and you lack boundaries How to know when to say "yes" and when to say "no" How to take back your power, and shift from being a Good Girl to becoming a wise, wild, unleashed woman. 173 How to Shift From I Can't to I Can!
Think about some of the things that really make you happy. Now, how often do you do them? Probably not as often as you really, truly could, right? And why is that? If you're like me and so many others, your brain probably comes up with a whole host of reasons why you can't do some of the things that would really make you happy! This is so common, AND, this is something you can change! In today's episode I talk about: Why our brains throw up roadblocks to doing what makes us happy. How we can overcome those blocks. How I shifted from, "I can't," to, "How can I?" and how you can, too. The judger path vs. the learner path, and how this framework can help you view your options very differently. The importance of both/and, instead of either/or. This is SUCH a juicy episode! I want to welcome AnaLuisa as a new sponsor of The PurposeGirl Podcast! This is an incredible jewelry company with extremely reasonable prices! Please check them out (https://shop.analuisa.com/purposegirl) and use the code PURPOSEGIRL to get 10% off your first order! 172 You are Worthy of the Whole Cake!
I grew up saturated by messages that women deserve less than men. Maybe you did, too. Like so many women, I settled for the crumbs instead of expecting more, because that's what I thought I deserved. It's taken me a long time and a lot of personal work to unleash myself from those old, unhealthy beliefs, and in this episode I want to help you do the same! I'm talking about: The subtle – and not so subtle – ways in which women have been told that they deserve less than men Where are you accepting the crumbs instead of demanding and expecting the whole damn cake? How I've come to understand the importance of treating myself How we can develop self-compassion as a tool to overcome our old stories of being unworthy An exercise I call a "desire deep-dive" The importance of saying – and believing that – I Am Worthy!
