EP151: You Have to Be Brutally Honest with Yourself (If You Want To Grow)
Are you playing all out? Alex recently went through an important exercise that made him realize he wasn't. He encourages everyone to check out the Wheel of Life self-assessment tool and to rate themselves, honestly, from a scale of 0-10 on where they stand in certain key areas of their life. Alex believes if you're hitting a 7 or less, you need to reevaluate your life's priorities and get yourself running on all cylinders again! Key Takeaways: Alex is really reflecting on how this year turned out as things begin to slow down. Alex recently went through an exercise called 'The Wheel of Life'. When you're doing the exercise, you have to be incredibly honest with yourself on where you are right now in some of the key areas of your life. Alex has always been his harshest critic. He's guilty of comparing himself to where he should be in life. Alex had to do the wheel of life exercise twice because he wanted to make sure he was truly, truly, being honest with himself. On a scale of 0-10, if you're putting down a 7 or less, then you really need to re-evaluate where you want to be and strive to get there. For example, Alex is not running on a 10 with his health. He's slightly overweight and he's uncomfortable with this. If you're not playing all out, you're doing yourself and your family a disservice! Cam Dunlap has been a full-time real estate investor since 1993. As the market gets cluttered and there are more solutions available to the seller, the testimonials will either make or break the buying decision. How else can people break out and stand out from the crowd? How can you properly ask for a testimonial? So many people are camera shy. Every business has skeletons in their closet. Most people try to hide them, but this means your prospects will try extra hard to uncover those skeletons. So, what can you do to build trust when you know you have a weakness? Mortgage professionals, real estate professionals, and attorneys are consistently considered and rated the most untrustworthy. It's not the people working these jobs, it's the process behind it. Alex receives a lot of questions about what his KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are and what do his marketing numbers look like before he closes on a deal. Well, today's your lucky day because he reveals all that info and more on this week's show! You've got to know your numbers but just remember every market is different. EP146: Camilo Palacio Reveals His Secret Weapon (International Cash Buyers)
Camilo Palacio is a living example of what the American Dream can do for you. Camilo is originally from Colombia, but moved to the U.S. and begin investing in real estate. Before the age of 30, he and his wife became financially independent. Now, Camilo works with international buyers from both Central and South America and helps them find, acquire, fix, and flip (or even rent) properties while his investors stay at home. Camilo became financially free before he turned 30 through real estate investing with the help of rental properties. Camilo has been in the U.S. for 17 years. Camilo has set it up in such a way international investors can stay in their respective countries and trust that Camilo will find good deals for them in the United States. What have been some of the differences Camilo has noticed between working with local buyers vs. international buyers? Camilo is currently doing around 10-15 properties a month. How has Camilo managed to get international buyers interested in being on his buyer's list? You can broker with places like Remax and Century 21 as well in other countries and make those buyer connections that way. If you meet an international buyer that's interested in coastal markets, build relationships with other wholesales! Camilo and Alex both work in the same area, but they're not competitors. They work together on joint ventures and when you have that mindset, it's so much easier to build real connections. Camilo is honest with his investors. EP145: Eliminating the Bottlenecks in Your Business

On today's show, he discusses why he decided to stop using a call center and what he's doing to build rapport instead. Also, he offers a couple of ways on how to eliminate bottlenecks in your business and teach your team how to get deals that will lead to profit. When this happens, it usually means there's a bottleneck somewhere in your business. Acquisitions and sales need to be on the same page, always. You don't want your team relying too heavily on you in order for the business to function. When you're in a position to hire new staff, then it is incredibly important to set clear expectations as to what you should expect from them. Also, creating a standard operating procedure document can help speed up the training process and it gets new hires more familiar with your business and expectations. The final piece to all of this and to avoid chaos in your business is to make sure your team has accountability. This way you can track results and not lose time and money! EP142: Andy McFarland on Growing Your Wholesaling Business from One Deal to 30 Deals a Month
Andy McFarland has been a real estate investor since 2002. He owns a real estate wholesale company, a retail flipping company, and he also buys and holds. In Andy's wholesale business, he is in three different markets: Utah, New Mexico, and Indiana and does roughly 25-30 deals a month. On the show, Andy does a deep dive on how he scaled his business from one deal with just himself to 30 deals (per month) with a team of 18 people.
