The following is a conversation with Mark Becker. Mark was the co-founder of Fenway Exploration - a private energy company that was sold for a 7 figure exit, returning multiples to its shareholders. Mark earned his chemical engineering degree from the University of Calgary and worked at a variety of engineering roles before starting Fenway. Fenway was also co-founded by Mike Rutherford - another recent guest on the podcast who continues to run Rundle Eco-Services, an interesting company that recycles commercial plastic in the energy industry. #51: Mark Sharp (Team Panorama & Artist) - Building a Business, Creativity & Ski Racing in Canada

The following is a conversation with Mark Sharp. Mark is an artist and the Head Coach & Program Director of the Team Panorama Ski Club.Along with his wife Sigrid, Mark has built the Team Panorama Ski Club from a small program with a dozen kids to one with hundreds of athletes and a budget approaching seven figures.Before Team Panorama, Mark coached at the World Cup level for the Canadian National ski team for over a decade, and was one of the original coaches for the Banff Ski Academy.Some of Mark's coaching highlights are as follows:-Alpine Canada Coach of the Year 2000 & 2002-Canadian Coaching Association Coaching  Excellence Award 2003-Coached Alison Forsyth and Genevieve Simard to 6 World Cup Medals and a  Bronze Medal by Forsyth at World Championships St. Moritz 2003----------------------------------Born in England, Mark grew up in South Australia where he obtained his Bachelor of Product Design at Adelaide University. This episode, we are joined by Dr. George Athanassakos -  Professor of Finance and the Ben Graham Chair in Value Investing at Ivey Business School. Dr. Athanassakos is the Founder & Managing Director of The Ben Graham Centre for Value Investing, and the Founder and Managing Director of the Center for the Advancement of Value Investing Education. Prior to joining Ivey, Dr. Athanassakos spent a number of years at various research-related positions with banking and trust companies in Canada and Greece, and taught at York University and Wilfrid Laurier University, where he was professor of Finance and Founder & Director of Laurier's Financial Planning Program. Dr. Athanassakos has a BA  from The School of Industrial Studies of Thessalonica, Greece, and a MA,  MBA &  PhD in Finance from York University. The Financial Planning Standards Council has bestowed Dr. Athanassakos with the FP Canada™ Fellow distinction for his outstanding contribution to furthering the organizations mission. Dr. Athanassakos is also a Fellow of the Quality Shareholder Initiative at the Law School of George Washington University in Washington, DC. He is the only Canadian to receive this distinction.Dr. Athanassakos has been ranked among the top 10 researchers in Canada by research published in Financial Management and among the top 10 Canadian professors by the Globe and Mail. He has also prepared studies on the Canadian capital markets and industry analyses for Greece and Canada. #48: Mike Toffan (Project Forest) - The Uncommon Centrist, Transparency & Reforestation vs. Industry

This episode, we are joined by Project Forest founder - Mike Toffan!Mike graduated with a degree in Forest Management from the University of Alberta and has since used his experience as General Manger of Reclamation and Forestry at Tree Time Services to found Project Forest. Project Forest is a non-profit reforestation company that has partnered with conservation groups and private landowners to afforest large areas of land. Lou has also published numerous articles and academic papers on everything from the science of boot fitting to avalanche transceivers.
