795: Moving Forward {Interview with Karen Waddell}

"Your past does not equal your future." -Anthony Robbins Karen Waddell is the Executive Director of the House of Sophrosyne. She has been with them for 13 years. She has held various management positions in the past, but her most rewarding role is at the House. She works with a team of very competent managers and highly trained staff that are truly dedicated to helping those individuals requiring their services. She graduated from the University of Windsor with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She brings addiction knowledge and experience from a more personal level; having a sibling who battled addiction for many years. As the Executive Director, her primary role is to ensure the clients are receiving the quality of care they have come to expect from the House of Sophrosyne. They have been providing addiction programs to women and their families since 1978. Since that time, the House of Sophrosyne has made great strides in both improving and expanding their services to meet the needs of those they serve.
