017: Did The School Call Today? Parenting Personal Growth.

017: Did the school call you today? Not too many people talk about parenting as a spiritual practice - let alone how we grow as individuals once our children start school. I mean that seems to be when the ‘real world’ problems come to life, right? What do you do when your child has severe social anxiety? What do you do if your child has low self esteem and/or bullied? What if you’re getting calls from the school and no one is giving to ‘advice’ on how to fix the situation? Then what? Not to mention the jammed packed schedule. When do you even have time to care about these problems? HOW do you create time? SHOW LINKS: Book: The Conscious Parent by Dr. Shefali Join us on the private FB group. 016: On The days I don't want to be a mom anymore.

So…. for the first time ever on the podcast I’m talking about how I shift my energy and make sh!+ happen on the days I don’t want to be a mom. On the days when I’ve put too much pressure on myself to do it all. A lot of people think because I teach others about parenting and feeling in control that I’m a perfect parent. That’s so far from the truth. I’m human too don’t forget. In today’s episode, I discuss: 7 minute game changing morning workout (link found below). What happens when you lose yourself to parenting and how to begin to find yourself again. How to get yourself out of a pity party and feel in control again. I use this technique on a weekly basis. Your action step for today. Before you start a pity party of why you can't doing something. Reconsider HOW to can accomplish it. Show links: 7 minute workout Join us on the private FB group.

015: Anxiety Free Living?

Today’s episode is all about what it really takes to create emotional freedom. I talk a lot about emotional freedom because I believe it’s the foundation of happiness and success AND it's possible for anyone. Yes, anyone. If we/or our children do not have the tools and roles models to guide them towards feeling in control of their big emotions (anger, anxiety, fear and negative thoughts) they/we will not know how to overcome them — unless they learn themselves. Having a professional background in mental health I’ve witnessed people from all walks of life overcome adversity. So what makes them so resilient? Simple answer: Their lifestyle and their relationship to vulnerability and emotion. In this episode, I discuss: How to start feeling in control of your big emotions on a moment by moment basis. Why we get stuck in a label and diagnosis and feel like a victim. Why I stopped drinking coffee - even though it’s my favourite drink ever. My new meditation practice and how it has evolved over the years. Your In Control Action Step for today: Pay attention to how to feel after you eat certain things, what time you go to bed, who you hang around with, your thoughts. How much screen time you have. Write it down in a journal and also write down the emotion that shows up when doing these activities. Warmly, Heather P.S. 014: You have enough time. Here's why.

If you’re wasting time, you’re wasting your life. Being diagnosis with cancer taught me this. I get it, we’re all busy. Kids, work, errands… who has time for sex or self care? I will tell ya who. People who create the life they want. Have you ever wondered how the average successful (not burnt out) business woman and mother is able to have time for herself and cultivate deep relationships with those they love? She’s intentional about her time and her energy. And this is exactly what I’m talking about on today’s podcast episode - over on the Mom Is In Control Podcast. Click here to listen. In this episode, I discuss: How to prioritizing what’s important to you - so you can get out of overwhelm. Thriving Mindset: What you might be doing that’s keeping you stuck in a ‘never enough’ mindset. My 60 second nightly planning ritual that allows me to get a good night sleep. The addiction you might have that you’re unaware of and being aware of this will help your kids avoid this as well. In control action step: Take 5 minutes and write down a simple ‘time log’ for what you’ve done today. Are the direct actions you’ve taken today in alignment with how you want to feel and show up in your work and relationships? One step at a time, you got this. Warmly, Heather P.S. 013: How to hold space when a child (or adult) is having a meltdown.

Have you ever caught yourself in a situation when a child or someone you know is having a meltdown or trantrum and thought, now what? Have you ever wondered what to do in the midst of a meltdown when your child (or someone you know) is in the RED zone? How do you let them process these emotions without losing your cool? Or taking away their pain? In this episode, I discuss: What to do when your child is experiencing an overload of emotion (anger, anxiety, fear, jealous). How I kept my cool in a personal parenting moment. Enabling vs. teaching emotional responsibility. What’s the difference and are which one are you teaching? In Control Action Step: Observe yourself when confronted by uncomfortable situations. What do you typically do when a child or adult is expressing big emotion? Do you try to talk over them or do you hold space for them to feel it fully? Like the Facebook fan page. Join Our Private FB Group - Mom Is In Control Village. 012: Why I stopped going to therapy. What I did instead.

Personal development can become addictive, especially when you come to believe you can't move on until you are fixed or the problem is solved. I see women do this a lot and spend years in therapy. Perfectionism hits hard. Especially when it comes to their kids. NOTE: I'm a huge fan of therapy but there comes a time when you need to move on to the next level. 011: Racheal Cook - Conscious Business & Making Life Easy

POINT 1: Prioritize and get clear on what matters to YOU and your business. Being true to yourself and run your business and life in a way that feels good to you. POINT 2: Get rid of the overwhelm in your business. Make it a priority to put systems in place that save your sanity. Get real with what you can handle and follow through with making the process easier. POINT 3: Eliminate life stressors by creating systems. Systems are key to success. If it works keep doing it. If it doesn’t let it go. Changing the way you eat, sleep, and workshop will help you making more money in your business and transform your life. QUESTION OF THE DAY: What can you delegate to someone else to give you more creative space to grow? CHALLENGE OF THE DAY: Let go of one thing that is no longer working in your business. Change it up. Find a new system. QUOTE OF THE DAY:: “ You can have it all, you just don’t have to do it all yourself.” Rachealcook.com FREE CHALLENGE: Firedupandfocusedchallenge.com Like the Facebook fan page. Sep 16, 2015 • 11min

009: If it's not working… let it go.

POINT 1: Get clear on your values and lead from that place. I see so many women lead from a place of fear and never truly feel in alignment in their lives. They value honesty and yet they are never honest with themselves. When you’re clear on how you want to raise your children, show up in your marriage, feel when you work — you can start to take actions that align with your values. POINT 2: Opportunities in life come with personal development, not with degrees. It doesn’t matter how much education you have or big your student loan is… happiness comes from within, now how powerful your position is at your job. We create the opportunities we desire. We create the energy we fuel within our bodies. We create our home environment but how we individually energetically show up. Do the work and show up daily. POINT 3: Stop, reassess and take different action. When something feels off, imbalanced, uneasy we need to STOP and reconsider what it is we are trying to achieve. If it’s just hard but we’re getting results, keep going. If it’s hard and you’re not getting the results you desire - redesign the plan and take different action. QUESTION OF THE DAY: What is it that you want to create? Lean in and trust the process. CHALLENGE OF THE DAY: What action do you need to take today? One that you have been resisting? Pick one person in your local community that you want to connect with. Reach out and connect to them. QUOTE OF THE DAY: “ When we are actually listening and taking action, that’s when the good shit happens.” Like the Facebook fan page. Join Our Private FB Group - Mom Is In Control Village. 008: The process of upleveling your life.

POINT 1: The circle of I’m not good enough. Unconscious belief —> Thoughts —> Action —> Reality (want you want/what you don't want). POINT 2: Talk to your fear. What is your fear trying to tell you? Connect to your fear. Write fear a letter. Example: Dear fear… Why are you here? What are you trying to tell me? What do you need from me? POINT 3: Disrupt the system by taking different action. When unleveling your body is trying to keep you safe. Discomfort is natural. Keep going. Rest, listen and take small consistent action. QUESTION OF THE DAY: Are you letting fear run your life? CHALLENGE OF THE DAY: Connect to your truth and take one action to live your life from THAT place, not your fear. QUOTE OF THE DAY: “ If you are focusing your attention on what you do want, the Universe is listening.” Like the Facebook fan page. Join Our Private FB Group - Mom Is In Control Village.
