ep. 255 Why Businesses Fail w/ Jeff Fenster

Welcome back, babes, to the Scale Your Sales Podcast! Today’s episode is going to blow your mind as we take you behind the scenes of Infinity Live, featuring a powerful conversation with Jeff Fenster—serial entrepreneur, speaker, and founder of EverBowl, one of the fastest-growing franchises in America. In this candid and energizing session, Jeff breaks down how businesses truly scale, the underrated power of options, and the real reason most companies fail. This is not your average fluffy business chat—this is an unfiltered masterclass in growth, innovation, and entrepreneurial grit. Topics Covered: Why options are the single most important thing in business survival The myth of experience: why waiting until you're “ready” is overrated How Jeff built EverBowl without any restaurant background—and made it thrive The two repeatable problems in business you must solve to scale How vertical integration (construction and supply chain) saved his company What COVID taught Jeff about staying agile and thinking in opportunities Why “relationship capital” is real currency for entrepreneurs The story behind landing EverBowl on QVC and getting 500 franchise leads How to build meaningful relationships by making deposits, not withdrawals Real talk on leadership, pivoting, and building a brand rooted in purpose   Companies fail and people go out of business for one reason: they run out of options. That's it. The big other mistake a lot of entrepreneurs make is thinking that they have to be bigger before they focus on scale. That is a dangerous game. Every air pilot in the world is taught that altitude is your friend. Why? Because if you have a problem in an airplane, the higher you are, the more time you have to figure it out before you hit the ground. So options come from scale. Scale comes from mitigation of problems. And so, if you run out of money, you run out of options. If I don't have any money, I can't pay my bills. If I run out of product, I can't sell product. I run out of options because I don't have product to sell, so I have to do something else. I was just trying to figure out how to stay alive and stay in business today. And I was able to do that because I had options—because we vertically integrated and solved repeatable problems before I even knew I was going to need them. And it's not that we were so brilliant. We weren't. We were just doing the things that gave us options. What tool do we have for the current issue in front of us? – Fenster   CONNECT WITH JEFF: INSTAGRAM: @fensterjeff LinkedIn: Jeff Fenster   CONNECT WITH JILLIAN JOIN INFINITY™ here → thejillianmurphy.com Follow me on IG: @thejillianmurphy Join my Facebook Community: https://bit.ly/sellingsecretsgroup

ep. 254 Bounce Back Rate w/ Chris Harder

Welcome back, babes, to the Scale Your Sales Podcast! Today’s episode is an inspiring behind-the-scenes conversation with Chris Harder, renowned entrepreneur and business mentor, recorded live at the Infinity event. Chris and Jillian dig deep into what it really takes to thrive as a business owner in today’s economy. They get brutally honest about overcoming setbacks, adapting to shifting market conditions, and the realities of risk, resilience, and making smart business pivots. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to scale to seven or eight figures, this episode is packed with practical insights and real talk you won’t hear anywhere else. Topics Covered: Why sales cycles are longer and buyers are more cautious right now (and what to do about it) How to find true product-market fit and market “to the times” Risk tolerance, comeback rates, and why innovation is your best friend Real talk: Facing business failures, sudden setbacks, and how to bounce back The importance of your community and mentors in helping you recover from challenges Honest breakdown of the current economic landscape—what it means for your sales, your offers, and your customers The power of perspective: why things might not be as “doom and gloom” as they seem Why adapting your message (and sometimes your products) is key to surviving tough seasons Building long-term mentorship relationships and the real value of staying in the room Why certainty and trusted partnerships can be more valuable than chasing a “better deal” “Overnight, we went from being weeks away from flipping the on switch on, two years of work, three million dollars in, to nothing. Absolutely nothing. There's nothing we could do with this platform in that moment. That was the worst, the absolute worst of my professional career, for sure. And I've had some pretty low lows. It began a trickle-down effect of all sorts of challenging things happening. Had a stroke, I'm blind in this eye, 50% blind in this eye, all sorts of things. My business partner, Matt, was a tremendous resource for saying, "Oh well, let's find our pivot and let's go." My friends who have already been in this situation, who have already built massive eight, nine, even ten-figure companies, shared their stories with me. "Hey, that same thing happened to me, only it was food products. Hey, that same thing happened to me, only it was real estate." They were able to give me guidance and they were able to kick me back in the game. My wife was able to kick me back in the game. My brother was able to support and kick me back in the game. So the people that you have around you are what are going to absolutely matter the most when that bad thing happens and cause that comeback rate, if you will, to be that much quicker.” – Chris   CONNECT WITH CHRIS Instagram: @chriswharder Facebook: Chris Harder Website: chrisharder.me   CONNECT WITH JILLIAN JOIN INFINITY™ here → thejillianmurphy.com Follow me on IG: @thejillianmurphy Join my Facebook Community: https://bit.ly/sellingsecretsgroup

This honest and refreshing talk is for every entrepreneur who’s ready to stop spinning their wheels and start aligning strategy with execution. What's the next step in my business for the obstacle or bottleneck I have today, instead of the one that I foresee coming? The ability to focus is going to become so much more valuable and needed, I think, in business." – Ashley   CONNECT WITH ASHLEY: Instagram: @ashleybrasso LinkedIn: Ashley Brasseaux   CONNECT WITH JILLIAN JOIN INFINITY™ here → thejillianmurphy.com Follow me on IG: @thejillianmurphy Join my Facebook Community: https://bit.ly/sellingsecretsgroup

Today’s episode features a powerful and practical conversation with Jillian Murphy, a sales expert and business mentor who went from corporate sales executive to seven-figure entrepreneur. Jillian opens up about the pivotal moments that launched her into entrepreneurship, including an unexpected layoff and a single conversation that changed the course of her life. This episode is packed with honest insights on building authentic connections, mastering relationship-driven sales, and creating lasting business momentum—without relying on flashy marketing or massive followings. If you’ve ever wondered how to grow your business simply by showing up as yourself and serving first, this is the episode for you.   Topics Covered: Jillian’s corporate-to-entrepreneurship journey and the event that started it all How she built a multi-six-figure business from a Facebook group—before ever using Instagram The gritty, “non-sexy” sales strategies that actually work Why showing up consistently and serving your audience beats any shortcut How Jillian nurtures high-level relationships through service and follow-up The concept of “Return on Relationships” (ROR) and why it’s more valuable than fast ROI Practical advice for selling in the DMs—without ever pitching The long game of business growth and why having a vision matters more than a quick win "If you do anything above the bare minimum and you just show people that you care about them and you support them, sales come in. It's so easy to overthink this, but if you just take the reverse and say, it's so easy to just be kind to people and be interested in what they're doing and listen to them instead of scrolling, you will see results." – Taylor   CONNECT WITH TAYLOR Website: Taylorrenee.co Podcast: The Power Table with Taylor Smith CONNECT WITH JILLIAN JOIN INFINITY™ here → thejillianmurphy.com Follow me on IG: @thejillianmurphy Join my Facebook Community: https://bit.ly/sellingsecretsgroup

ep. 251 Relationships to Increase Visibility as an Entrepreneur w/ Charity Majors

Welcome back, babes, to the Scale Your Sales Podcast! In today’s episode, Jillian brings back a fan-favorite guest and longtime friend, Charity Majors, for a powerful conversation on collaboration, community, and visibility in business. As the founder of Business and Bubbly, a national networking platform for women, Charity is a speaker, author, and expert on building what she calls connection capital. Together, Jillian and Charity unpack the true power of relationships—beyond just clients—and how nurturing those connections can fuel long-term success, stage opportunities, and growth as an entrepreneur. This episode is an inspiring reminder that sometimes the big domino in your business isn’t another funnel or freebie—but stepping up as a thought leader through speaking, writing, and serving others first. Topics Covered: The difference between clients, collaborators, and cheerleaders—and why all three matter How to build connection capital and nurture relationships that open doors The law of reciprocity in collaborations and visibility Why serving first makes the ask feel natural, not icky The power of cross-pollinating audiences and leveraging platforms like podcasts and events What makes a great speaker for a live event—and why not everyone is entitled to a stage The “big domino” concept and why becoming a speaker or author may be the move that changes everything Personal stories of rep-building, mentorship, and long-game strategy for getting noticed "So finding the big domino is actually doing things like getting published, speaking, being an author, getting media appearances. And so I all of a sudden stopped creating the freebies and the landing pages and the offers and the email sequences. I already had a crap ton of those going on and I went on a mission to learn, to be a better communicator, to speak, to be on stages, to speak, to have my own stage, to publish a book."   CONNECT WITH Majors Instagram: @charitymajors   CONNECT WITH JILLIAN JOIN INFINITY™ here → thejillianmurphy.com Follow me on IG: @thejillianmurphy Join my Facebook Community: https://bit.ly/sellingsecretsgroup

Why haven't you done it?" "Hey, Lucy, you said you were going to launch this. Why hasn't it launched?" "Hey, Lindsay, you said you were going to stop doing this, but I see why your story is still doing it. What's up with that?" That's the power of being in a community. And that's the power of accountability. Most likely, that's what every single one of you needs. You don't need to learn anymore. In fact, you don't need to spend another dollar on a training. Welcome back babes, to the Scale Your Sales Podcast! Today’s episode is all about the power of relationship capital and how consistently showing up, following up, and making bold asks can open doors you never imagined. If you're just sitting in your home, sitting in your apartment, sitting at your desk, or sitting at your nine-to-five, making a post on Instagram and hoping that somebody buys from you or hoping that somebody slides into your DMs and asks you to be on your podcast, it doesn't work that way. You have to be actively seeking out opportunities, and you actively seek out opportunities by building relationships and building what is called relationship capital.” – Jillian   CONNECT WITH JILLIAN JOIN INFINITY™ here → thejillianmurphy.com Follow me on IG: @thejillianmurphy Join my Facebook Community: https://bit.ly/sellingsecretsgroup
