We hear about scams often. But, not often enough since they keep happening and consumers continue to be victimized by creative & convincing scammers. On today's podcast, we learn from a fraud-fighter on the front lines, who often speaks to victims of scam/consumer-targeted fraud. Shannon Slaughter is the enterprise fraud manager at Merit Trust Credit Union, a member-focused financial institution based in Kansas, US. In the last several months, most likely due to the financial hardships caused by the impacts of Covid-19, she's seen a sharp increase in consumers falling victim to creative scams.
