#166 Sarah Davies
I last spoke to this guest back in episode 110, which was an extremely popular episode, so to have her on again was awesome. In this week’s episode, I caught with a silver medallist from this year’s European Championships, as well as now holding all three British records in her weight class, Sarah Davies. With all the obstacles that have been thrown in Sarah’s way over the last year or so, and for her to then go and smash her first competition back on the international stage, was great to see. Therefore, in this episode, we chatted about the build up to the European Championships as well as keeping concentration and how she overcame the challenges thrown at her.

In this week’s Strength Chat, I was joined by two strength coaches who are the founders of Data Driven Strength, Zac Robinson, and Josh Pelland. These guys put some awesome content and information out there and are always looking to refine their coaching and programming skillset when it comes to getting the best out of their lifters. I took a lot away from this chat and really enjoyed talking all things powerlifting and strength training. In this weeks Strength Chat, I was joined by an athletic performance specialist with degrees in Sports Nutrition, Sports Science, and Sports Psychology, as well as 20 years’ experience of working with combat athletes, Tony Ricci. With experience in both the academic and practical side of athletic performance, it was great to speak with Tony about how he uses both to get the most out of his athletes. A really knowledgeable guy who you can tell has a real passion for what he does and loves to see his athletes do well. In this episode we covered how to get the most out of a session with limited time to compliment an athlete’s performance, managing an athletes training volume, as well as nutrition best practises in combat sports.
