And here in the U.S., the threat of a railroad strike could disrupt holiday shipping. President Biden is asking Congress to block it. Earth's largest active volcano is erupting on Hawaii for the first time in nearly four decades. Five New Haven, Connecticut police officers now face criminal charges after an incident that left a black man paralyzed in June. More than six months after a deadly massacre at a Buffalo grocery store, the victims' families may finally be getting some justice. The shooter pleaded guilty yesterday to charges including domestic terrorism -- and admitted he was motivated by racism. New details on a horrific crime in California in which a former police officer allegedly catfished a teenager, and then murdered three members of her family, thousands of miles from his home. The alleged killer was shot dead in a confrontation with local sheriff's deputies. Tensions are high this morning, hours before the U.S. and Iran play a deciding match in Qatar. 11/28: A rough travel day affects millions of people. Small plane crash leaves thousands without power.

In maryland, a pilot and a passenger were rescued after their plane got tangled in high voltage power lines and they were stranded for nearly 7 hours. At one point, tens of thousands of customers were without electricity and schools in the area were forced to close today. The weather that may have led to that crash was also a factor for millions of Americans who were traveling yesterday. There were major flight delays and cancellations for those trying to get home after Thanksgiving. China's government faced some of the largest public protests in decades over the weekend. Demonstrators in the capital, Beijing, and other cities called on the country's president to resign over strict COVID-19 lockdown policies that have failed to stop the virus from spreading. Schools will be closed today in Houston because of a tap water problem. The director of Houston's water department says an electrical problem left the water pressure too low for several hours yesterday. Voting is underway in Georgia in a fiercely contested Senate runoff election. More than 165,000 people lined up to cast their ballots early over the weekend. Former President Trump is facing backlash for hosting known anti-Semites at Mar-a-Lago, just weeks after announcing he's running for president again. Kanye West attended a dinner on Tuesday, along with white nationalist Holocaust denier, Nick Fuentes. At the World Cup in Qatar, team USA faces a must-win game that has turned even more political. The U.S. will play Iran tomorrow. The matchup has already stirred controversy, after online posts that Iran's government calls an insult. We have new details on the Justice Department's investigation into former President Trump's efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. CBS News has learned the DOJ wants to question former Vice President Mike Pence about what happened before and on January 6th. Turning overseas, violent protests erupted on the streets of china in a new explosion of anger at the world's largest iPhone factory, owned by Foxconn. Witnesses say police beat protesters as crowds clashed with officers in white protective suits this week, in a dispute over pay. Russia is being condemned for a new wave of missile strikes that plunged much of Ukraine's capital into darkness. Yesterday's attacks on Ukraine's power grid caused one of Kyiv's biggest outages in nine months of war. At least 10 people were killed in strikes across the country. A powerful earthquake in Indonesia has killed at least 268 people, many of them children in schools. As the holiday season begins in this country, there are new concerns about a possible rail strike after one of the nation's largest railroad unions rejected a deal reached in September. That agreement was negotiated with the help of the Biden Administration. This Thanksgiving is set to be the busiest air travel period since the start of the pandemic. According to AAA, 4.5 million Americans are expected to fly to their destination this year, up nearly 8% from 2021. The U.S. men's team had a solid start at the world cup, as controversy continues to swirl around the tournament. The U.S. gave fans plenty to cheer with a goal in the first half yesterday.
