Emily Pifer is on the podcast today. She has a book that is beautifully written called The Running Body. The book tells Emily’s story and the story of so many other competitive and recreational runners who struggle with overtraining, disordered eating, bone injuries, lots of loss, and the emotional and physical healing that comes with that loss. Emily writes about her experience as a college track and cross country runner and also dives into the broader culture of elite distance running. Emily received her MFA in creative nonfiction writing from the University of Wyoming and is now a PhD candidate in composition and cultural rhetoric at Syracuse University. TrackTown USA is a nonprofit organization committed to setting a standard of excellence in the sport of track and field and running by hosting premier events, creating a supportive environment for elite athletic performances, improving facilities, being a leader in sustainability, and inspiring the next generation of track and field athletes and fans. Episode 460: Adelle Tracey – Competing for Team Jamaica, Career Aspirations Outside of Running

Adelle Tracey runs for Hoka and she now competes for Team Jamaica after years of competing for Great Britain. She has been competing on the international stage for over ten years. She focuses on the 800 and 1500 and in this podcast we talk about the decision to run for Team Jamaica and her goals and aspirations in the sport of running. She is a silver medalist in the 1500m and a bronze medalist in the 800m at NACACs. During her first season representing Team Jamaica, she became a world semifinalist in the 1500 and 800. Adelle is also a hair and makeup artist. She has worked in film, TV, and photography and has been a model. Episode 459: Emily Mackay – 3rd Place at USATF Indoor Championships Coming off of a Breakout Season

Emily Mackay is on the show today! She is a professional runner for Team New Balance Boston. She is a five-time NCAA All-American. She has recently had a bunch of breakout races. She PRed in the 3k this indoor season and was third at USATF Indoor Championships. She also broke 4:30 in the mile, she ran a 4:26, which was a 5 second PR. In this episode, we talk about her untraditional path running for a smaller school and now training with some of the best in the country. Episode 458: Erika Kemp – Debuting at the Boston Marathon

Erika Kemp is making her debut at the Boston Marathon! Erika was first on the show on episode 298 in January 2021. At that time, she was training for the Olympic Standard while training with the BAA. She recently announced that she sponsored by Brooks.  Erika is queen of the roads. She won the USA 20k champs in 2021 and she won the USA 15k champs in 2019 and placed 2nd at the USATF 5k road champs in 2018 and 2022. She was also 2nd in the 25k champs in 2021. She is now being coached by Kurt Benninger who is Molly Huddle’s husband. I am so excited to see what she does in Boston! Episode 457: Reid Buchanan – Redefining the Purpose of Running

Reid Buchanan is a professional runner and web developer. He ran with On Running and was coached by Andrew Kastor in Mammoth for several years. Reid gives us some really great perspective in this podcast episode about what running really means to him and how he is looking at it now that he is working full time outside of the world of running. He recently in the USATF 15k Championships in Jacksonville, Florida where he finished fourth. He also recently competed in the World Cross Country Championships this past February. He is a three-time marathoner and he shares in this episode about some issues that he is faced in the marathon and how he is working on those. Episode 456: Whittni Orton-Morgan – From NCAA Champion to Taylor Made Elite

Whittni Orton- Morgan is on the show today! She is a professional runner for Adidas and is on the new team, Taylor Made Elite, coached by Diljeet Taylor. If you have been following along our coaching series, we wrapped up the coaching series this past Tuesday with an episode with Diljeet so it was really fun to hear from both coach and athlete on the podcast this week! When Diljeet started coaching at BYU in 2016, that was Whittni’s first year there as well. It is so exciting to see them work together in Whittni’s professional career as well! Whittni was the NCAA National Champion in Cross Country in 2021 and that came after some setbacks and she talks about how she processed all of that and how she got to the starting line ready to go and at peace.
