Michigan football beat Minnesota in a very similar fashion to how it beat USC, with a final score of 27-24, falling apart in the second half, and letting the other team get within a whisper of leaving The Big House with a victory. And many Michigan fans are very unhappy with the win, but we see a lot of bright spots -- and we're not just looking on the sunny side of the street. The offense needs some time to put things together, and it's really close. Will it get there? We can't say for sure, but we've seen a lot of signs, both in the execution and the playcalling. Michigan Wolverines beat Minnesota Golden Gophers to move to 4-1 on season and 2-0 in Big Ten play. Michigan Wolverines led 24-3 entering the fourth quarter before Minnesota Golden Gophers mounted a comeback scoring 14 consecutive points to pull within one score at 24-17. Michigan Wolverines drove down for a Field Goal by Dominic Zvada to put Michigan on top 27-17. Minnesota Golden Gophers mounted a touchdown drive late in the fourth quarter to make it 27-24, but Michigan held on for the win after recovering an onside kick. Minnesota Golden Gophers recovered the first onside kick, but an offsides penalty negated the recovery and forced a re-kick in which Michigan Wolverines recovered. Alex Orji and Kalel Mullings led the offensive attack while Zeke Berry recovered a fumble on defense and Jyaire Hill intercepted Minnesota Golden Gophers quarterback Max Brosmer.
