IE170 Shelly Lefkoe: Break Free & Thrive: How to Remove Limiting Beliefs Forever with the Proven Lefkoe Method

In this week’s episode, Amrit interviews Shelly Lefkoe, speaker, workshop leader, and author of Parenting the Lefkoe Way.“Belief is a statement about reality which you think is the truth.”All behaviour is belief driven. Beliefs stop serving you when they begin to impact your behaviour and limit what you believe you can achieve or have in your life. No matter how many self-help books you read or courses you do, you won’t change your behaviour until you change your belief. Most of our beliefs are held unconsciously. They may be holding you back from reaching your goals and feeling truly content and you may not even be conscious that you have them. Shelly and Amrit dive deep into the elegant, effective and revolutionary process to eliminate beliefs that are limiting your progress towards your dreams and living the life you deserve. This process is about consciously working through your deeply-held belief and actively challenging it. You can change your belief and behaviour pattern in order to build the life of your dreams.Limiting beliefs are created in childhood and then stay with you. We all set our hearts on affection, attention, and acknowledgment; when they are not fulfilled, we begin to give meaning to specific events and create beliefs over time. Happiness or suffering is determined by the meaning we give events. Not only limiting beliefs are created in childhood. Most behaviour is driven by our deeply ingrained and typically unconscious beliefs created in our early years. Listen to Shelly and Amrit discuss hoy we can reframe the negative meaning we have given to a particular situation to break through limiting beliefs. They also talk about the importance of having a good self esteem in a society being geared to make you feel you are not good enough. There is a lot of messaging that you get that wants you to believe that you have to be a certain way to fit in. But if you get rid of the beliefs that say that is true, the message will not buy in.Furthermore, they talk about parenting and how by being conscious in the way you raise your children you can create more confident, kind and empathetic kids. You can  empower them with positive beliefs about themselves and life, and help them create a happy life they deserve. In this episode you will learn how to recognize your limiting beliefs and identify the root of your beliefs to see the pattern and start reframing what you know is true.“The biggest gift from my work is to get the freedom to be authentic.”If you would like to eliminate a limiting belief for free, please go to: https://www.recreateyourlife.com/store/eliminate-belief-free.php If you would like to work on nineteen esteem beliefs, please go to: https://recreateyourlife.com/store/natural-confidence.php#order Level up your life with unlimited access to every Mindvalley Quest Program (over 30+ programs). IE169 Kerwin Rae: How to Be Unstoppable: Master 'Elite' Strategies for Success in Life, Business & Beyond!

In this week’s episode, Amrit interviews Kerwin Rae, Australia’s leading business strategist, businessman, coach, mentor, author, investor, and international speaker. He is the host of “The Unstoppable” podcast. This episode is all about helping others. Amrit and Kerwin have a deep conversation about how Kerwin helps people to succeed in their business and their personal development, and unlock the best within to facilitate the best life ever. They dive into Kerwin’s unstoppable journey into becoming a consultant.Kerwin was drawn to business from a very early age. From selling horse manure at the age of twelve door to door to working in the security business. In between, Kerwin has had almost fifty jobs working hard every day non-stop. And since he started his first business at the age of twenty three, he has successfully overcome both business and personal adversity. Kerwin realized he had far more potential than he ever thought and stepped into the entrepreneurial world. He partnered with his mentor and started making business with him. Ever since, packed up with a load of experience and with the most effective mindset and skills in business development, marketing, sales, human behaviour, and entrepreneurial psychology, he has been doing what he most loves to do, helping business owners succeed and helping people succeed. Furthermore, they talk about the importance in serving yourself because there is a correlation between personal growth and business growth. If you work on yourself and grow, then your business grows too. It is not only about working on strengths, and weaknesses, but about noticing, realizing and working on those things you carry within that keep you from reaching success. They also talk about the best experience in his life, Noah, his son. They dive into Kerwin’s obsession with human performance and the importance of modelling wisdom and love, not wounds, when parenting. Through his own experience, Kerwin believes you have to become the best version of yourself to be able to help others and parent your child. He is profoundly convinced that everything he does, everything he says and every single environment he places Noah in, is going to affect in some way his progress.  They also converse about different concepts he shares with all his clients and tools to succeed in life such as:The importance of values. Values are connected to who you are and there is always an opportunity to pair them to different meanings. A value never changes, but its definition or its understanding of expression can, and will, as you grow. The importance of performance and being aligned with something that is important to you. The more you are aligned with what is important, the more you will achieve levels of flow. Flow being an incredibly important ingredient in any form of hustle and challenge. The importance of competing with yourself. Compete with yourself. Do what you like and get better at it, always regulating your stress and emotions. The power of learning through others' experience. As Kerwin would say “The more I ask for help, the easier life becomes” And the ability to process information and the importance of duality. How important it is looking at things and seeing the bad but at the same time being able to see the good; seeing them both simultaneously as one whole picture.“Love is a synthesis of complementary opposites seen in synchronicity. It's where you can see the good in someone; the personality traits, behaviours, and expressions, and the bad in someone; the personality traits, behaviours, and expressions simultaneously – and be accepting. Life is dual – that's life.”About Kerwin Rae:Helping over 100,000 businesses in 154 different industries throughout 11 countries worldwide, with his revolutionary, no bulls*** approach to business growth and personal development, Kerwin Rae is one to watch.Having lived through six near-death experiences including a stroke at the age of 34, Kerwin Rae consistently defies the odds and has turned his struggles into strengths. Kerwin failed every class due to undiagnosed dyslexia and ADHD, and now uses his platform to empower people with the personal development skills and resilient mindset that has enabled him to succeed in life.Kerwin has a background in sales and business development, having spent much of his life building and flipping businesses to great success. He now applies his business acumen to helping small business owners grow and scale their business through five key pillars; leadership, marketing, sales, planning, and mindset. With the current climate rather unpredictable due to COVID-19, Kerwin has worked tirelessly to adapt his business to be more accessible for those in need. Through this he has released his Corona Care Package, a free accessible series of webinars via Facebook giving those in need a plethora of world leading experts advice on maintaining one's business during such unprecedented times.Due to the success of Kerwins Corona Care Package, Kerwin will be releasing an official documentary ‘Bracing for Impact’ in early May showing the impact of COVID-19 on a multimillion dollar business as well how Kerwin successfully pivots his business and clients towards surviving an unpredictable storm. For small to medium-sized business owners who are dissatisfied with their lack of results or who simply want to accelerate growth. True success is not meant to be limited to one area of life while leaving other areas failing or suffering. True success is holistic; meaning every area of life is harmonious with the values of all other aspects of life; there must be a balance between mental, emotional, spiritual, physical and financial. When you find that balance for yourself and live wealthwise you can accomplish so many more things. It is all about adjusting and correcting all the time.Robert strongly believes that success must be about achieving goals with fun and passion, making this world a better place for everyone and making an impact in people’s lives knowing that money comes in as a side effect.Amrit and Robert dive deep into Robert’s life’s crazy journey towards success.Robert began his career as a pizza delivery driver suffering in debt before realizing that he was capable of so much more. He travels the world learning, training and transforming the lives of thousands and thousands of people. His passion is to inspire people into tapping into their greatness.Robert learned many lessons along the way, lessons that changed his life. He shares now those powerful steps that open individuals up to the possibilities that lie within them, and guides them in identifying their purpose and living it with passion. They talk about the importance of turning your success into a beautiful perpetual cycle and looking at the long picture starting by taking one step at a time towards your goal. Robert refers to six steps towards success: dreaming big, finding a mentor, taking action, celebrating success and believing in yourself, and number six about repeating the first five. Then it is about doing it again and again to keep on elevating your success.  Furthermore, Amrit and Robert dive deep into the importance of innovating beyond the box and having the control over your own success steering wheel. It is about trusting who you are and finding your own purpose. As Robert would say,”There isn’t only one way to pay your bills” Last, but not least, they converse about the importance of embracing who you are to become the most authentic version of yourself and how important it is to have fun when working towards success. IE167 Jake Heilbrunn: Mental Health Transformed: How to Replace Anxiety With Purpose

In this week’s episode, Amrit interviews Jake Heilbrunn, an international TEDx speaker, best-selling author, host of Curious with Jake Heilbrunn Podcast and Head of Partnerships at Conscious Counsel.Purpose consists of the central motivating aims of your life. It is the reason why you get up in the morning. Purpose can guide your life decisions, influence behavior, shape goals, offer a sense of direction, and create meaning. Purpose can heal. Purpose can heal anxiety and so much more.Jake and Amrit talk about Jake’s anxiety healing journey, his path towards self-discovery and purpose, and his greatest lessons learned along the way.At the age of seventeen, Jake started university and began to break out with hives, rashes all over his body and soon after with anxiety. He was on a path of pressure, a path based on expectations of others, a path where he certainly was not happy and was causing more pain than good.Jake wanted to change. He wanted to pursue his dreams. He felt the urge to experience another way of life, a journey of self-discovery. At the age of 18, he took courage and made the hard decision to leave college. He bought a one way ticket to Guatemala where he spent months backpacking through Central America all alone, without a phone and three words of spanish. He wanted to know who he was, what he was capable of and needed to pave his own trail. He listened to his inner voice following his intuition, trusting his instincts that things were going to work out.Jake’s body was telling him something, something in him wasn’t aligned. Taking this new path, not only helped him recover from the rash, but also helped him figure out who he was, unrevealing all the opportunities that have led his life to where he is today. He also discovered the importance of having courage and following it and how important it is to trust yourself. Furthermore, Amrit and Jake dive deep into a raw conversation about Jake getting this lesson twice but in a different way.A couple of years later, Jake’s life was knocked over. He was hit by Lyme disease. For almost ten months in severe pain and suffering, he had to be in bed. This impacted his entrepreneurial life, having to bow out from the company he co-created from 0 to $2.5M in revenue in just 2 years, his personal and his love life as well. Jake felt completely shut down and all alone.Listening to people who have been through the same chronic disease, surfing the ocean, and being in flow with the waves and every single moment, have helped Jake on his healing journey. This extremely challenging disease helped him discover his hypesensitive energy and learn how to be hyper aligned with saying no and letting go. Jake affirms that the journey towards recovery was about learning to listen. He strongly believes his journey here on earth is intuition and that the universe talks to us in many different ways. It appears with a whisper but if you don't pay attention every time it will appear with more and more force. In this chapter of Inspired Evolution you will learn how to heal anxiety and depression through purpose, learn how to take courage to do things you believe are right by following your intuition, discover the beauty of peace by letting things go and discover that in darkness there is always hope.“I say to myself: How can I be the most aligned with the thing that sets my soul on fire? Because that is the medicine for the world!”“When you pursue something that you choose, even if it is scary, it makes problems less haunting”About Jake Heilbrunn:At the age of nineteen, Jake Heilbrunn published 'Off the Beaten Trail', a memoir that has been described as the young dude version of 'Eat Pray Love' fused with a modern-day 'Into the Wild'....but with a happy ending ;) The book became #1 on Amazon in 2 categories, has over 50 5-star reviews, and has gained the attention of multiple NYT best-selling authors, including Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup of the Soul founder, 500+ Million copies sold), The San Diego Union-Tribune, Psychology Today, and various other media outlets. He is a passionate TEDx speaker, who has spoken to 15,000+ people across 6 countries, to audiences ranging from High School assemblies, Universities like USC, corporations like REMAX and organizations like NAMI. When Jake speaks, his intention is to inspire people to replace anxiety with passion, find what makes them tick, feel at peace with their mental health journey and live purposefully. In 2017, Jake co-founded and built The Idea Collective with his business partner, Taylor Conroy. From scratch, they grew the company from 0 to $2.5M in revenue in 2 years and helped over 200 purpose-driven leaders share their messages with the world, landing talks at TED, TEDx, Fortune 500 companies, Universities and features in Goalcast, Forbes, ABC & Entrepreneur. They helped speakers clarify their message, land their stage, deliver their message and spread it online to elevate their mission and purposeOvernight, on October 17th, 2019, Jakes’s life turned upside-down. Lyme Disease hit him like a train. Bedridden in extreme pain, and unable to work, he stepped down from the company and parted ways with his business partner, no longer fit to work. The next 10 months were the hardest and darkest of his life. He produced a film, 'Waves of Healing,' on his story going through Lyme Disease and the healing power of the ocean and surfing. While he is still on this healing journey and has a long way to go, he is happy to have made tremendous progress and is at least functional again.Jake is the host of the podcast "Curious with Jake Heilbrunn" where he interviews fascinating entrepreneurs, authors, healers, musicians and pro athletes. He loves diving deep with people who inspire him, learning their triumphs, dark moments, failures, successes, lessons and the juicy stuff that can’t be seen on social media.Tune In: Welcome Jake Heilbrunn to the Inspired Evolution!: (00:00:00)Where replacing anxiety with purpose came from:(02:00)“The dark can lead you to your own hero’s journey”Stress symptoms notifying non-alignment:(06:10)“Looking back I understand my body was saying something was wrong”Challenging bits pointing to the right direction:(08:37)“Know when to say no and let go”About recalibrating a mindset: changing paths to deal with anxiety and then getting knocked with Lyme disease:(15:57)“The inability to relax opened me up to what the lyme presented”Intuition as a gift brought from healing journey:(22:13)“Intuition guides you to your highest invest and joy”The process of labelling Jake’s anxiety:(24:43)“Take time and make space to uncover layers on top of you that are not you”What called Jake in going to Guatemala:(29:09) “Experience something drastically different to figure out who you are”Taking the courage to follow intuition:(32:17)“Take the courage to do what you believe is right”About pivotal moments:(37:26)“The unknown for whatever reason is so much harder to choose”About the challenges worth to take a different path:(39:20)“Pursuing things that you choose, even if scary, makes problems less haunting”The importance of service to others and how it helps Jake:(43:01)“Don't ask what the world needs, ask what makes you come alive and do that”Jake Heilbrunn’s book and film:“Off the Beaten Trail: A Young Man’s Soul-Searching Journey Through Central America” book by Jake Heilbrunn: https://amz.run/4Ox2 - “a book that every young man should read. IE166 Michael Bayliss: Beyond Sustainability: The Trouble with Infinite Games, Finite Rules (Post-Growth Podcast)

In this week’s episode, Amrit interviews Michael Bayliss, a vocal advocate within the environmental and post-growth movements. What is post-growth?The world economy focuses on infinite growth: growth in national production, growth in profits, growth in consumption, growth in financial markets, growth in population. Several political ideologies such as capitalism, socialism and communism, have come to accept that economic growth is the way. All growth inclinations have led to huge changes in terms of the relationship between humans and the earth, and the relationships we have with each other. They sustain that these changes are good, but these changes harm the earth’s ability to sustain us.Post Growth is an emerging perspective. It is about building on the existing aspects of our world that are sustainable in order to create resilient futures. This includes strengthening ecologically and socially sustainable practices, while recognizing the finite resources of planet earth.Michael is a critical thinker who trusts in campaigning for alternatives to infinite growth. His work is focussed on advocacy regarding choice for small families and for working cooperatively with our global neighbours to create equitable societies that do not rely on perpetual growth.Clearly there are lots of things to be concerned about and some things need to change. In this chapter, Amrit and Michael interchange perspectives and some differing viewpoints as they turn stones over and have the right conversations to keep going towards the future that we see and want to call in. Michael strongly believes that if you don't have an intimate relationship with people you can't make decisions on their behalf properly and that a diversified well being economy is not about how many things we have, but how much we are valued and validated by the people around us.Additionally, there is an interesting conversation about spirituality and activism.Way back, Michael used to be very argumentative. Doing the inner work on spirituality helped not only his ego get over with being wrong but has also made him more humble. IE165 Sarah Prout: Manifestation Mastery: 7 Ways To Manifest Anything You Want (Dear Universe)

In this week’s episode, Amrit interviews Sarah Prout, a manifestation mentor, inspirational speaker, emotional empowerment expert, award-winning entrepreneur, writer, podcast host and best selling author. Sarah is the Chief Creative Officer and Director of Soul Space Media, a personal development company she runs together with her husband, that publishes ideas and teachings that inspire spiritual expansion focussed on the manifesting niche. She has her own podcast, The Sarah Prout Podcast and is the author of the best selling book “Dear Universe, 200 Mini-Meditations For Instant Manifestations”If you would like to have access to Sarah Prout’s book “Dear Universe, 200 Mini-Meditations For Instant Manifestations” so you can learn how to use the power of your feelings to create the success, love, and joy you deserve, please go to: https://amz.run/4M4qManifesting is when we bring attention and intention to what we want to attract in our life. Sarah is convinced that you can guide your emotions, your intuition, and your energy to create your own reality, and explains the manifesting process through her own life experience. After getting married to her second husband, Sarah went through five consecutive miscarriages in a row. Completely broken and feeling she had been tested by the universe, she still wanted to manifest a baby. Then came the day when she showed up in an emergency room with all the signs of a miscarriage. She addressed to her soul baby’s essence that she would be fine whether she showed up or whether she didn't. Sarah got comfortable with that uncertainty and that feeling was the miraculous leverage point for the universe to connect with her and say everything would be alright. Sarah surrendered and, there was the heartbeat. Being comfortable with that uncertainty and open to all possibilities gave Sarah her best reward. Today, Sarah is mother to two beautiful kids.Sarah and Amrit have a fun conversation about the art of manifesting. They dive deep into Sarah’s three elemental steps of manifestation: getting clarity and having a vision of what you want, making it really important to feel and how you want to feel, and detaching and letting go of the outcome. They also cave into effective tools to navigate and reach each step of manifestation. They talk about how important it is to label yourself with what you are good at and the need of clarity in communication and language when finding your vision, how important it is to have an optimistic, joyful and grateful attitude towards worry and adversity because if you do better things can happen, about the importance of moments of surrender, and reaching the awareness that being open to all possibilities is the key to your manifestation. Furthermore, they speak about the cultivation of a mindset to choose everyday in your life and why it is so important to choose humour.Every single moment in life is a choice point. You can choose how you react, direct your energy and take ownership of your emotions. By choosing and taking self responsibility you can manifest your own reality. Sarah strongly believes that by choosing joy, your life will turn up with more opportunities. In this chapter you will learn how to arise from worry and live with more intention, intuition and authenticity.  You will discover how to have the power to consciously manifest all what you want through your connection to the universe and by empowering your emotions. “Joy is the currency of consciousness”“Get out of your head and into your heart and the moment”Level up your life with unlimited access to every Mindvalley Quest Program (over 30+ programs). He believes connecting, sharing, supporting, and healing together, helps people navigate back towards sobriety,  personal growth, and indeed towards the growth of humanity. They cave into his Option C Recovery program. A conversation around an option based on his new philosophies which revolutionize the way the world approaches addiction recovery and mental health.  Furthermore, they dive deep into how one becomes an addict, as well as the knock-on effects of drinking, how it affects the connection with ourselves and others, and how it can have a completely negative effect in relationships, in other words how drinking can make you miss out on everything in your life.In this chapter you will have access to a mobile app that helps addicts recover, recovering addicts stay sober, and the friends and family of those affected to better understand how they can support their loved ones and each other. You will also have access to courses that will help you move forward and find a balance in between your physical, intelectual, emotional and spiritual foundational pillars.  You will uncover the importance of asking yourself what your priorities are and the impact it would have on the world if you do so.If you are going through a difficult moment with addiction, with Jon-Olaf you will find a new way to step out of your loneliness and suffering. You will discover a new caring and loving path where you can turn your pain into purpose and your hurt into healing.“You don't have to suffer and you don't have to run away from your suffering. They dive deep into what causes trauma, how and why it gets stored in the body, and effective healing modalities to recover from it.If you would like to have access to Dr. Bessel’s best seller “The Body Keeps the Score” and learn more about how to heal a body that stores trauma, please go to:  https://amz.run/4I8M   In the first part of this chapter, Amrit and Dr. Bessel talk about what is trauma, what goes on in our brain when we hold on to things that we can't let go of, how we navigate the world with stored traumatic experiences, experiences that can prevent you from living a life and the importance of having people around you when feeling overwhelmed. They converse about the changes in your brain when you go through a dramatic experience, different parts of the body related to traumatic experiences, the role of helplessness when trying to get out of a traumatic experience we can’t get out of and the role of our nervous system when processing trauma. They cave into a dialogue around the link between our rational mind and the trauma we experience and where the trauma is stored. In regards to this modern society in which people have in their heads what their bodies should look like; they talk about whether this is potentially creating more of a disconnection rather than a connection to their bodies.Furthermore, in the second half of the episode, they dive deep into healing with a short parable of the raft and how once helpful things can become a burden instead. They talk about how to begin with healing, how every culture has their own indigenous ways of dealing with trauma, the importance of some modalities of healing having someone around, modalities for healing with no one around, different healing therapies, western culture’s therapies, and promising neurofeedback and psychedelic therapy with it’s different perspectives. In this chapter you will discover what trauma is, how it makes you feel, how it is formed and created, how it changes your brain, why people experiencing trauma keep behaving and reacting as if they were stuck in that experience, why you get stuck in a state of hyper alertness and why your body, mind and entire system gets frozen or stuck in “fight or flight” mode. You will understand why people try to shut the feeling down and end up shutting down their ability to feel turning to drugs, alcohol, pharmaceuticals and compulsive behaviour. You also will have access to different modalities and therapies for healing trauma, promising research around psychotropics and psychedelic therapy and neurofeedback. You will learn the importance of taking care of your body, feeling safe and being surrounded by your loved ones. You will master the most effective healing modalities to recover from trauma!“Take care of your body”“Develop a loving relationship to take care of your body”About Dr. Bessel van der Kolk:Bessel van der Kolk MD spends his career studying how children and adults adapt to traumatic experiences, and has translated emerging findings from neuroscience and attachment research to develop and study a range of treatments for traumatic stress in children and adults. In 1984, he set up one of the first clinical/research centers in the US dedicated to study and treatment of traumatic stress in civilian populations, which has trained numerous researchers and clinicians specializing in the study and treatment of traumatic stress, and which has been continually funded to research the impact of traumatic stress and effective treatment interventions. He did the first studies on the effects of SSRIs on PTSD; was a member of the first neuroimaging team to investigate how trauma changes brain processes, and did the first research linking BPD and deliberate self-injury to trauma and neglect in early childhood.Much of his research has focused on how trauma has a different impact at different stages of development, and that disruptions in care-giving systems have additional deleterious effects that need to be addressed for effective intervention. In order to promote a deeper understanding of the impact of childhood trauma and to foster the development and execution of effective treatment interventions, he initiated the process that led to the establishment of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN), a Congressionally mandated initiative that now funds approximately 150 centers specializing in developing effective treatment interventions, and implementing them in a wide array of settings, from juvenile detention centers to tribal agencies, nationwide. He has focused on studying treatments that stabilize physiology, increase executive functioning and help traumatized individuals to feel fully alert to the present. This has included an NIMH funded study on EMDR and NCCAM funded study of yoga, and, in recent years, the study of neurofeedback to investigate whether attentional and perceptual systems (and the neural tracks responsible for them) can be altered by changing EEG patterns. His efforts resulted in the establishment of Trauma Center (now the Trauma Research Foundation) that consisted of a well-trained clinical team specializing in the treatment of children and adults with histories of child maltreatment, that applied treatment models that are widely taught and implemented nationwide, a research lab that studied the effects of neurofeedback and MDMA on behavior, mood, and executive functioning, and numerous trainings nationwide to a variety of mental health professional, educators, parent groups, policy makers, and law enforcement personnel.Tune In: Welcome Dr. Bessel van der Kolk to the Inspired Evolution!: (00:00)How Dr. Bessel defines Trauma: (02:59)“Trauma is an experience that overwhelms your system”Process in the brain when holding onto things and not letting go: (04:10) “We have systems in the brain that create the map of where we need to go”Navigating the world with traumatic experiences that drop in: (07:44)“What originally was protecting you becomes a deferment and prevents you from living”Traumatic experiences have to be extreme or can they be everyday experiences?: (08:41) “Humans need each other to make themselves feel safe”Community as an instrumental part of the coping system: (11:27)“The deepest hurt is to be brutalized by the people we love”About the brain having gone through a traumatic experience: (12:27)“If you cannot fight or flee, your system may get stuck and keep on producing stress hormones”Different parts of the body related to different traumatic experiences?: (13:55)The role of helplessness when trying to get out of traumatic experiences you can't get out of: (15:24)The role of the nervous system in processing trauma: (16:32)“The function of the brain is to have a functioning body”“Your body sends signals that need to be attended”The link between a rational mind and a traumatic experience. She trains psychotherapists all over the world and trains in three languages English, French and Hebrew.Early in her career, Dafna worked in treatment foster care and witnessed child after child “fail” out of foster placements due to difficult behavior. Children were disruptive, unsettled and unhappy, and their caregivers felt defeated. Dafna’s sense of discouragement went away after taking the DDP training and learning direct, concrete ideas and interactions that she could apply in home with her treatment families to promote healthier, stable relationships. Dafna’s area of expertise is helping children with serious psychological problems caused by histories of abuse, neglect, trauma and/or multiple placements. Nobody was prepared for the events that would happen at home when the child actually showed fear of the enemency of the parent-child relationship. Dive in and see what Dafna did to help these damaged kids and the child/parent relationship.“I went on a search to find the skills to help damaged kids”About the disruption of children’s intimacy: (04:18)When a child is born their attachment system is prime and ready to connect with a responsive primary caregiver. If that primary caregiver is not responsive or abusive, then this child is going to grow up completely distrusting and it will be very hard to be their own selves.“Damaged kids see any adult that wants to take care of them as a menace ”Approaches that work with damaged kids: (06:40)Discover the importance of acceptance, being present, and sharing basic experiences. In this chapter you will master fun, simple and sensory games for those basic experiences.“We need to give kids presence and acceptance to feel safe”How does a parent not have expectations?: (08:42)Parents constantly try to put their expectations on their child and make it so that the child bares witness to what the parent’s greatest values are. In this chapter Linda recommends what to do every time you have a conflict with your child. “Let go of expectations if you want to have a harmonious relationship with your kid”“Play” according to Dafna: (11:33)Cave into the episode and hear the most beautiful definition for “Play” and conversation around laughter.
