The Purpose and Value of Work | Jordan Raynor
Today we are going to be talking about “faith and work since the beginning of time." Our guest today, Jordan Raynor, author of the upcoming children’s book “The Creator in You”, will be giving us a fresh perspective on the creation account from the Bible's first book, Genesis, that helps readers see that "the sixth day" wasn't the end of creation--it was "just the beginning." Jordan has written several books that give adults insight into the meaning of the purpose and value of work. In fact, it was Jordan’s book called, "Master of One," that I picked up during the pandemic that has really encouraged my decision to step out of corporate America and into doing full time ministry at Coffee and Bible Time beginning April 1st. His book taught me to imagine how different my life would be if I spent my time doing the very thing that brings me the greatest joy. A Beginner's Guide to Meditation | Ashley Krause
Today we are going to be talking about “meditation." What is it? Is it Christian based? Who should do it? Why should we do it? Where should we do it? And, how do we do it? What does meditation look like in your life today? Is it a practice that you whole-heartedly embrace and are actively meditating, or is it something that you avoid or don’t know much about? I know for me, meditation is not something that I frankly have given a lot of thought to in a formal sense, but I’m kind of doing it without labeling it as such. For example, I enjoy Scripture memorization. So, in the process of memorizing a Scripture, I am thinking about the meaning of the passage and how it applies to my life. I’m analyzing the verse to see what I can learn from it and how God wants me to respond. And, I’m also thinking about situations where I will be able to use that verse to help someone in need. So, let’s see if any of these things fall into the realm of the definition of meditation. And, if you are not sure what meditation is, or you would like some tips to improve your current meditation practice stay tuned for an in-depth guide to building your meditation skills as my daughter Ashley from Coffee and Bible Time is joining me today to give us a beginner’s guide to Christian meditation. Using Scripture to Ground Children in a Christian Worldview | Elizabeth Urbanowicz
Today we are going to be talking about “Equipping children to think well through building a Biblical worldview in the formative years and learn the Word of God.” Children today are faced with so much information coming from so many different places such as: books, cartoons, movies, school, even hearing conversations outside of the home—all at a very young age, that it’s fair to say they will encounter many false ideas and worldly perspectives, early and often. It’s so important as parents to understand that the world is changing at a rapid pace and young minds are very impressionable, so being mindful of teaching our young children early about the Christian Worldview and comparing the information they receive with the truth of Christianity is critical. Our guest today, Elizabeth Urbanowicz, founder and CEO of Foundation Worldview, will be sharing with us how we can navigate being media-stressed and equipping parents to handle the pressures of this culture and be intentional about equipping our kids to understand and evaluate Biblical truth compared to today’s culture.Watch This on YouTube: https://youtu.be/DVycTSmdX18Coffee and Bible Time Prayer JournalCoffee and Bible Time Prayer BinderFaithful Counseling (sponsor) - Get 10% off your first monthJoin our Coffee and Bible Time Crew: Bible & FriendsInstacart (sponsor) - Free delivery for new customers on first order!Vooguemehttps://foundationworldview.com/Got a question or something on your heart? Giving Advice to My Newly Engaged Daughter | Ashley Krause
Today I’m here with my newly engaged daughter, Ashley and I’m going to be sharing marriage tips. I love that we are doing this 8 months before the wedding so that you can pray about these and plan ahead. After being married for 31 years, I want to be clear that there are no perfect marriages, but God will use this relationship that you have with Johnny as part of your sanctification process. As you navigate each day of marriage, my prayer for each of you is that you will allow the Holy Spirit to guide and direct your relationship and you will experience the fruit of the spirit individually and together as a couple. Galatians 5:24 says: When the Holy Spirit controls our lives, it will produce this kind of fruit in us: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness and Self Control. So, let’s dive into each of these tips. I’m also excited to hear about how you are doing many of these things already.Watch this on YouTube: https://youtu.be/qsdnaD-h_nMCoffee and Bible Time Prayer JournalCoffee and Bible Time Prayer BinderFaithful Counseling (sponsor) - Get 10% off your first monthJoin our Coffee and Bible Time Crew: Bible & FriendsInstacart (sponsor) - Free delivery for new customers on first order!VooguemeBook - The 5 Love LanguagesDave Ramsey Financial Peace UniversityBook - Financial Peace UniversityThe Power of a Praying WifeBook - Love & RespectGot a question or something on your heart? More of Him, Less of Me: Mindset Shifts to Be More Like Jesus | Chelsey DeMatteis
Today we are talking about “More of Him; Less of Me” and the Biblical truths and concepts that will help challenge, change and shape the way we think of living a life more focused on Christ in a me-centered world. This me-centered world begins with our own thoughts that are pervasive in our minds from the minute we wake up until the minute we fall asleep. In fact, research shows that we have over 6000 thoughts in a day. What if, we shifted even a portion of our thoughts from this me-mentality to pursuing God fully and whole-heartedly?Well our guest today, Chelsey DeMatteis, is going to help us explore why and how we can shift our thoughts to more of Christ and less of us. You will see that when we are saturated with God’s Word and fully see who He is, we will be in awe of God’s character and that will lead us to want to know God more, follow Him, serve Him and be a light in the world. You will see a shift in thinking away from how we can help ourselves, to how God can transform our lives if we let Him.Coffee and Bible Time Prayer JournalCoffee and Bible Time Prayer BinderFaithful Counseling (sponsor) - Get 10% off your first monthJoin our Coffee and Bible Time Crew: Bible & FriendsIG-@livingwithlesspodcasthttps://chelseydematteis.comBook - More of Him, Less of Me: Living a Christ-Centered Life in a Me-Centered WorldGot a question or something on your heart? To the Girl who is Stuck Believing Lies about Herself | Trish Blackwell
Today we are talking about “How to See Ourselves as God Sees Us" and the AMAZING impact it can have on us when we do so!It’s incredibly important for us to know, remember and live by our true identity in Christ. In fact, there are many verses in the Bible that help us see ourselves as God sees us. Not only are we chosen by God, but we are His children who belong to him. We are loved by him, so much so, that nothing can separate us from His love. We are forgiven, cleansed, and in Christ, there is no condemnation against us. We are strengthened and equipped to do all that God has called us to do. So much so, that He gives us his Holy Spirit, living inside each one of us, to help us. We ultimately have peace, because we have hope in Christ and we live with His promise that he will never leave us or forsake us.Our guest today, Trish Blackwell, the host of The Confidence Podcast and author of the book Straighten Your Crown: Rediscovering That You are Seen, You Matter, and the King Delights in You will be expanding our understanding of how to see yourself as God sees you.
