Today we are going to be talking about “faith and work since the beginning of time."  Our guest today, Jordan Raynor, author of the upcoming children’s book “The Creator in You”, will be giving us a fresh perspective on the creation account from the Bible's first book, Genesis, that helps readers see that "the sixth day" wasn't the end of creation--it was "just the beginning." Jordan has written several books that give adults insight into the meaning of the purpose and value of work.  In fact, it was Jordan’s book called, "Master of One," that I picked up during the pandemic that has really encouraged my decision to step out of corporate America and into doing full time ministry at Coffee and Bible Time beginning April 1st.  His book taught me to imagine how different my life would be if I spent my time doing the very thing that brings me the greatest joy. Today we are going to be talking about “meditation."  What is it?  Is it Christian based?  Who should do it?  Why should we do it?  Where should we do it?  And, how do we do it?  What does meditation look like in your life today?  Is it a practice that you whole-heartedly embrace and are actively meditating, or is it something that you avoid or don’t know much about?  I know for me, meditation is not something that I frankly have given a lot of thought to in a formal sense, but I’m kind of doing it without labeling it as such.  For example, I enjoy Scripture memorization.  So, in the process of memorizing a Scripture, I am thinking about the meaning of the passage and how it applies to my life.  I’m analyzing the verse to see what I can learn from it and how God wants me to respond.  And, I’m also thinking about situations where I will be able to use that verse to help someone in need.  So, let’s see if any of these things fall into the realm of the definition of meditation.  And, if you are not sure what meditation is, or you would like some tips to improve your current meditation practice stay tuned for an in-depth guide to building your meditation skills as my daughter Ashley from Coffee and Bible Time is joining me today to give us a beginner’s guide to Christian meditation. Today we are going to be talking about “How God can use any gift to make an impact for His Kingdom.”  We will be speaking to a female executive who found her passion, what God called her to do which gave her purpose in life to help people in need living in the poorest places around the world.  She learned the stock market and took that knowledge to make a big impact on God’s Kingdom by helping those in tremendous need. Karen Bruton, the author of the book, “The Lamb of Wall Street,” is our guest today and she will be talking about how God can use our gifts to impact his Kingdom, even when sometimes those gifts are faced with pushback from some very intimidating people and places.
