I have to say Stephen had one of my biggest fears while traveling actually happen to him, I hope it never happens to me. Stephen was in Vegas and I was in Seattle so we had to record this weeks RAWtalk about two weeks early. The reason we did this is we didn't want to leave you hanging without an episode. Since we recorded early there wont be any photo news but if I am being honest I really enjoyed the banter throughout the entire episode. Thought we didn't have news I think it flows really reall well. Oh yea we had a special guest in the studio this week, Mr Sam Green!!!! Made in America is a music festival that is put on in Philadelphia by Jay Z and Budweiser. It draws some of the largest acts in the world and brings over 100,000 people to a two day concert. This was the second year that Stephen and I would be photographing the event and boy do we have some stories for you. I though it would make for a great RAWtalk topic and it definitely did. If you listened last week you would have heard Shawn Corrigan talk about how he was going right from my loft to the airport to fly back to LA. Well, he ended up not getting on that flight, be sure to keep an ear out this week to find out why. This week I sat down with a long time friend Shawn Corigan who has been traveling the world as a professional photographer/videographer for the better part of ten years. You will find out how Shawn worked his way into the music scene first as a guitar tech and later on as a photographer and videographer. Shawn touches on how he became a go to assistant for a few big name photographers. Speaking of assisting Shawn is looking for a good assistant in the LA area so if that is you be sure to listen closely to our interview. I know it sounds like I went to Canon, well I actually did. I went to Canon headquarters for a little meeting at their new facility in New York. I got a call a few weeks back asking if I would like to go up to Canon for a meeting and I figured this would be a good chance to be seen by everyone at Canon. We are back with a Little Bit of This and a Little Bit of That on this weeks RAWtalk Episode #048. After that last two weeks combining for to be a two hour episode I was attempting to keep this latest one to an hour, I failed. Like the title says we cover al title bit of this and a little bit of that. I had a follow up to the "In My Opinion" episode where a FRO reader received a letter letting them know that they made honorable mention. I get back into the giving my opinion mode during this segment. Next up I got an e mail asking if a photo contract was worth signing in order to photograph a band. You really are going to need to hear what this contract asked him to sign to believe it. Finally I finish with your FLYING SOLO questions which as always are full of great questions.

What started out as a regular RAWtalk episode to discuss music, low light and concert photography turned into an almost two-hour marathon of killer information. I ended up splitting it into two episodes, with part one airing this week and part two coming next week. As always, I sit down with Stephen to discuss the week's photo news, which brings us some pretty interesting stories. I asked Stephen to stay a while and join in on the low light / concert discussion being that he has shot a ton of shows over the past few years. After that, I moved into the Flying Solo portion of the show where I took your questions about shooting concerts. Our conversation was so in-depth that we didnt get to the flying solo portion of the show until late in the episode, so we'll be featuring some of the material in next week's show. This week, I hit on a topic about which I had to be very very careful how I chose my words. There is a fine line between one's opinion and what could be perceived as something else. I am still choosing my words wisely as I write up this description. I am talking about a photo contest that is a legitimate photo contest but chooses a lot of winners and asks you to purchase a photo book with your photo in it.
