Yeah this show is going to ruffle some feathers. Shortly after Whoopi Goldberg stated that the holocaust “wasn’t about race” - a pedantic interpretation of Nazi Germany in the 1930’s, Brian Flores (former head coach of the Miami Dolphins) announced he is suing the NFL for it’s racial hiring practices. It would appear we haven’t come very far as it relates to race but I think we’re a lot further along than most would think. Apparently CNN heard through a Ukrainian source that the meeting between the two Presidents didn’t go well. They apparently ran with the story - posting it on social media before quickly retracting. So is CNN guilty of spreading misinformation and warmongering? Today we discuss. We’ll also chat about the Feds meeting on Wednesday and what it means for markets. Reading the headlines you’d think the stock market was down 60%. We’ve become so accustomed to markets only moving up that we forget that stocks are risky assets. Crypto investors are also learning the hard way that they aren’t as smart as they thought they were. The Federal Reserve has become so entwined with the health of our economy that markets no longer consider fundamental market conditions when making decisions. They intuitively know that if the fed stops supporting this bubble - and yes it is very much a bubble - that the entire system collapses. Some suggest the fed will have to let interest rates rise as inflation creeps higher. But I think those people lack a clear understanding of history and how the problems of late stage super cycles are resolved. Today I’ll discuss where we are in this late stage debt super cycle as well as the most likely scenarios our government and Fed will take to try and contain the damage. With the economy in trouble, rising inflation and approval numbers below 50% the elites in Washington need a distraction. Enter Ukraine. Plus, the 1/6 committee - the committee created to investigate the January 6th attach on the capitol are now claiming unlimited power when it comes to investigating U.S. citizens. From California to London, everyone is looking for ways to increase revenue. At the same time central banks around the world are looking for ways to control the inflation they’ve caused. The U.S. alone has printed more than 5 Trillion dollars since the beginning of 2020, using that money to buy up everything from treasuries to corporate bonds. What we’re experiencing is a shift in power as our nation (and many others) progress through a natural life cycle that ends in debt and decline. That sounds pretty terrible and it’s easy to be a pessimist in times like this. But today I’d like to discuss our path forward. Just because there’s a recession, or depression, or a change in the balance of power doesn’t mean you have to suffer. There’s a big bold world being formed right now. War games by U.S. Special Forces against "freedom fighters" from a mythical land, right wing extremists storming our capitol, left wing rioters taking over cities...it would appear America is heading for a new civil war. Some believe we're already in a "cold" civil war or sorts with crony capitalists, big tech and government colluding to control us all. The great rest promises us a world where we will own nothing and we'll be happier than ever. But separating the fact from fiction can be difficult, perhaps impossible. When something happens we want to know why and we want that why to be clean and simple. Why is the wealth gap increasing? Greedy CEO’s, and billionaires keep sucking up the worlds resources while screwing the little guy. What’s the solution? Tax the rich. Take their ill-gotten gains and redistribute them back to the people. Clean, simple, easy to understand. But the truth is much more complicated.
