We will recall similar ways He provided earlier in Exodus and how He told them to keep items to help their descendants remember. Last time it was a jar of manna and this time, it's something different. God knows we are prone to forget and He wants us to give ourselves and the next generation, reminders of how faithful He is. We hear what the Israelites used for their reminders and discuss what we have in our own lives that serve as reminders of God's faithfullness.   Thanks for tuning in. God reminds them over and over again to not be afraid... that HE will be with them wherever they go. The people prepare to enter Jericho but 2 spies assess the land first and they receive help from Rahab. Rahab has heard of God's mighty works and offers to help them. We apply the truth that God is  with us too; even on those sad or frustrating days, God is with us!  We can be encouraged as Joshua was.  Thanks for tuning in. If you’ve missed the Exodus series, I’d highly recommend you go back and listen as they build upon each other.  Today we get to hear what the people did while Moses was receiving the 10 commandments, hear the spies check out the promised land, and learn how Joshua and Caleb clung to God's promises. We hear them walk by faith and not by sight. We will hear that the unbelieving generation doesn't get to enter the promised land and how it will be their children who will enjoy the land flowing with milk and honey which God promised to them. The kids will apply God's promises to their own lives and think about which promises are easy to see and which are harder to see. The story connects the dots that we can trust God's promises, like Caleb and Joshua did, even when it can be hard. Thanks for tuning in. Exodus 19: 1-8, 16-20 Today we hear Moses called to the top of Mount Sinai where God gives him the 10 commandments. We learn what a commandment is. Next week, we'llgo through the 10 commandments and hear what they are but today, we will focus on why we even have them. God gave them and us these 10 rules which showed how life worked best. We begin to understand that rules are there to protect us b/c God loves us. Exodus 17:8-13 Today we hear about the battle with the Amalekites. During this battle, Moses must keep his arms raised or else the Israelites begin to lose! When Moses grew tired, he had two helpers at his side: Aaron & Hur. We apply that God gives us people to help us too. God created us to be with others.... to have family and friends, a church, & a community. EXODUS 17:1-7 If you’ve missed our Exodus episodes, I'd highly recommend you go back and listen from # 199 or # 207  b/c the context is important and the stories will build upon themselves. Today, we hear the Israelites struggling in the desert as they journey to the promised land. The Israelites thought this hardship meant God wasn’t among them but that’s simply not true. We can remember the truth, that though we will have sad, and difficult days… God sees you, is with YOU , and loves you!
