Luke 2:4-7 & Matthew 1:21 Today we hear the classic story of Jesus being born in Bethlehem. I am just getting over losing my voice so I apologize that it sounds different.  In our story, we hear that Jesus' birth changed everything. This was part of God's rescue plan but we contemplate what Jesus gave up when he came down to Earth and put on human flesh. The apply section speaks of the significance of His birth. Romans 3:23 -24 & John 3:16 To prepare for Christmas, we need to understand why Jesus' birth is such a big deal. To begin to grasp how important it is, we will rewind back to the Garden. I understand there are a variety of ages and backgrounds who are listening so I have tried to keep it age appropriate for most families. We learn about: 1. Adam & Eve sinning & how that affects us. 2. We all need Jesus and His grace. Grace is a gift, not earned. 3. Sin separates us from God. We are made right with God by being made free from sin through Jesus Christ. ***** We will not discuss Hell in this episode. Luke 22:42 & 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 We are doing something different for this episode. We will hear a short scripture from our bible and then listen to an imaginary story about Molly and Will to help us understand the scripture. Molly & Will just read our scripture AND you’ll hear they both experience the same exact day.  Will they react the same way to their day though? Today's story reminds us that God is not upset when pray for him change the situation. We look at Jesus as our example who prayed to his Father in Luke 22  " If you are willing, remove this cup from me. Yet not my will, but yours be done." God wants us to pray about anything and everything but Jesus is also our example that we must trust Him even if the situation does not change. Can we trust Him? You sure can. When we choose to see the wonderful things , we realize we already have so much to be thankful for..and being thankful, it’s like kicking the enemy in the teeth.  It protects our hearts & how we feel.
