In Romans chapter 13 we are commanded to “submit ourselves to governing authorities because there is no authority other than that which is established by God.” And so, a question arises: what are we to do when governing authorities compel us to do that which is in opposition to God’s Word and His will? The apostles answered this succinctly: “We ought to obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29 NKJV).
