Hey sis,
Theodore Roosevelt once said, "Believe you can, and you're half way there."
& while I completely agree...BELIEF is of utter important in order to find complete food freedom, the other half of the equation is trusting the process & fully surrendering to the outcome. No matter what.
In today's episode, I discuss the "messy middle" & what it means to be in "quasi" or partial recovery from disordered eating.
Maybe you are just beginning the journey of wanting to break the chains from food & your thoughts around food & your body controlling your life. Or maybe, you have been struggling for a while. No matter where you sit right now friend, in order to find LASTING freedom - I believe you must fully surrender.
You can't expect full transformation if you have only been open to half-way change.
This took me YEARS to figure out in my own journey & recovery process & I don't want any more time to go by for you where you aren't living your very best life!
Today is the day to stop living with one foot in and the other foot out of your DREAM. Yeah sis, the dream life where you aren't consumed with thoughts around your body. The life where you aren't obsessed with what to eat or when to eat it or if you will allow yourself to have it. The life where food is fuel & health is strength.
You deserve freedom. TOTAL freedom. TRUE freedom. Not half-way freedom.

EP 149: The Most Powerful Commitment You Will Ever Make With You ~ It’s Time to Stand in Agreement!
Hi friend!
So before I bring you all the truth bombs on this Monday, I want you to know just how much I am thankful for you! It's days like today, where I am reminded how blessed I truly am. It's days like today, where I get to show up here for you & remind you how blessed you truly are too!
Yesterday at my oldest son's baseball tournament, I got the opportunity to talk about Her Best Self Co. & all that we are doing in the business to love on women all across the globe. I felt empowered, honored & proud to share love on another woman as I cheered my son on from the sidelines. It was a remarkable day! But I was reminded that not so long ago, I myself was trapped. I had to hit rock bottom & rebuild my life...I had to make an AGREEMENT with me.
Fast forward to the present, I'm in awe of how amazing it is to love on you sweet friend & provide inspiration to you. Inspiration that I longed for when I was struggling with my eating disorder.

Oh, & yes, I forgot to mention my son's team won the big trophy & you would have thought it was one million dollars in cash! Those 10 year old faces dripped with sweat & bliss.
They were champions! Winners! They grew a little bit wiser & with a little more confidence, as they cheered, huddled & cried on the field after the game.
But before they became champions, they had to stand in agreement of exactly what they wanted. & the same goes for you sis!
Today on the podcast, I share with you the MOST powerful commitment you will EVER make with you! This one is oh so good! (& yes, I'm sorta bias)

How is it Thursday already? I can't even!
All I know is it is HOT here in Virginia & I am loving the start of summer vibes! But let me be for real....this mama is not ready for the summer schedules. Oh my how it is transition time!
Both of my boys are in camps (thank you baby Jesus!) But at the same time, I cannot believe my oldest is going into 5th grade & my youngest just graduated from Kindergarten. Time flies way too fast! (insert mom tears)

The 5 "D's" are what I believe are the BIGGEST challenges you will ever face as you navigate freedom from food & that 'crazy thinking' controlling your every day.

I was lost. Exhausted. Constantly thinking about what I could eat next & when I could eat it. I was miserable. & I spent years in the same wonky cycle trying to convince myself that everything was fine & I was fine....I was far from fine.
Fast Forward to my "ah-ha"....I hated life & I craved a better way. But in the process of creating more for myself I came across these 5 biggest challenges.
The only way out girl, was through. & the same goes for you. Your body doesn't care HOW you think it should look, or what society says is best...your body simply cares about functioning at it's optimal state (& eventually it will do whatever it needs to do to get to that place)...what this doesn't mean is that if you begin introducing new foods or carbs you have restricted for some time that it will store these away and you will blow up like Violet in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
This my friend is what I call....fake news!

EP 143: Scared to ”Let Go” as You Navigate Freedom From ED? Use My 5 Question Framework to Help You ”Let Be” Instead💌
I'm bringing you some Beatles on this Monday morning!

No, not the kind my 6 year old finds crawling in the backyard, the actual BEATLES!
Okay, let me explain!
We like to dance party in our house! & this morning while we were making breakfast & singing our hearts out the song, "Let It Be", by the Beatles came on.
It goes something like this...
"And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light that shines on me, shine until tomorrow, let it be."
When I sang those words I realized that I MUST do a podcast episode on the power of "letting be".

In Episode 143, I share with you my 5 question framework to ground yourself as you heal from restriction & control.
You see, letting go is inspiration & means pure & total release. But that can feel heavy when you are navigating freedom from disordered eating. Reality is, if you knew how to let go, you probably would have by now...am I right?
In my own recovery, I would surrender control only to pick it up again the next day. That is when I realized that the stepping stone to letting go is actually allowing yourself to "let be".
