“You really do just have to start wherever you are, with whatever you’ve got,” An update with your host, Kim Kerton

Listener, this episode I’ll be sharing a little more about where I’m at with my own business-building, and my very lovely Mum is back to interview me. In this episode, I’ll give you an update on what’s happened since I launched this pod in 2021, some of the messiness I’ve experienced along the way and what I think (I hope) might be next on this journey. We’ll talk about the scariness of starting something like this, the awkward moments that pop up, the challenges of balancing multiple creative outlets, and the need to feel supported financially. Please do drop me a rating and review if you’re enjoying this content, it really matters, and hopefully you’ll help me spread the word by telling your friends, family and colleagues to listen in! “It's okay, you can start incrementally,” Founder of Wobble Yoga and Director of Scream Pretty Australia Polly Teller

For today’s guest, the fabulous Polly Teller from Wobble Yoga and Scream Pretty Australia, it was the looming change in a contracting magazine environment and desire to be as present as possible for her family while working, that made her realize that the need to change was imminent, but the idea took its time to seed and grow.   You’ll love Polly for so many reasons, but particularly for her beautiful honesty and vulnerability about the messy middle and the surprising learnings she had along the way - including going right back in her career to lay the path to go forward. We talk about how easily you can try to talk yourself out of doing something for fear that it already exists in other forms, that it’s not innovative enough, or that no one will want it – and why you should put all those thoughts in the bin. Plus, the difficult thing that no one really digs into on the journey - the weirdness that you feel when you realize how much of your identity was attached to what you do, and what to do, and who you are, once that’s changed Shop Wobble Yoga and follow Wobble on Insta and check out the Scream Pretty Australia shop and Insta And don’t forget to follow Unemployed & Afraid on IG and LinkedIn Join our Facebook Group You can reach your host on email via kim@unemployedandafraid.com.au On IG and on LinkedInSupport the show by shouting me a cuppa (or 2): https://www.buymeacoffee.com/unemployedpodSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

“Sometimes what your soul guides you to do, doesn't always make sense to your mind, and it's not always convenient,” Transformational teacher and Author, Kute Blackson

Larry King said it much better than me…. “Kute Blackson is a leading visionary in the field of personal development. His work is remarkable, powerful and will transform your life.” In this episode I took a lesson from Kute myself and threw away the question planning - we found ourselves chatting about why you should start where you are to create real value for yourself and others, why constantly looking for, and trying to define, your purpose could be moving you further away from it, and how easily we can get caught in the trap of success.   This chat will be just what you need to lean back into your powerful potential. His new and compelling book The Magic of Surrender is out now so order your copy here Connect at Kuteblackson.com to access more of Kute’s teachings, and of course hit him up on the socials, Instagram and Facebook And don’t forget to follow Unemployed & Afraid on IG and LinkedIn Join our Facebook Group You can reach your host on email via kim@unemployedandafraid.com.au On IG and on LinkedInSupport the show by shouting me a cuppa (or 2): https://www.buymeacoffee.com/unemployedpodSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

“Sometimes it felt a little hard to say the truth {in business partnership}, like we were being polite,” Cat, Jade & Andrina, Psychotherapists and Co-Business Owners at Insight & Wellness

Jade, Cat and Andrina made therapy their business, but didn’t think they’d create a business in therapy quite so soon. In today’s episode of Unemployed & Afraid, the fabulous women behind Insight & Wellness in Toronto talk about the unexpected stops and starts of getting a business off the ground, what it’s like to create a business partnership with friends, the importance of good communication over everything, shaking off the misconceptions of therapy, the future of psychedelics as therapy, and how going from an area of specialty, like therapy, into business ownership can be a hectic learning curve. I could have chatted with them for hours, they have so much incredible wisdom to share, and you’ll love their honest take on what it’s like to challenge yourself in life and in business. This definitely won’t be the last we hear from this brilliant trio, let’s get around them to encourage their own growth (and hopefully their own podcast) very soon… Connect with them on Instagram @insightandwellness And online at Insight & Wellness And don’t forget to follow Unemployed & Afraid on IG and LinkedIn Join our Facebook Group You can reach your host on email via kim@unemployedandafraid.com.au On IG and on LinkedInSupport the show by shouting me a cuppa (or 2): https://www.buymeacoffee.com/unemployedpodSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
