The Motherkind Podcast
Zoe Blaskey
Motherkind is the podcast for women who know that motherhood changes everything — and want to grow forward, not “bounce back”.
Hosted by Zoe Blaskey, Motherkind explores the profound personal, emotional and professional transformation that happens when you become a mother. This is a space for women navigating the wild, identity-shifting years of motherhood who want to reclaim confidence, redefine ambition, and build a life that works for who they are now.
Each week, Zoe sits down with world-leading experts, thought leaders, psychologists, authors and well-known figures to unpack the real experiences of modern motherhood — from matrescence and identity loss to confidence, boundaries, work, relationships and self-worth. Expect honest conversations, evidence-based insight and practical tools that help you move through this season with clarity and strength.
Motherkind is not about doing more, fixing yourself, or returning to who you were before children. It’s about becoming who you are now — with intention, compassion and growth.
If you’re a mother who wants to feel more like herself again — confident, grounded and excited about what’s next — this is your place.
Motherkind: for the woman behind the mother.

Re-Release | Matrescence: The word we all need Lucy Jones
Welcome to this week’s Motherkind episode, the show that is going to help you navigate the massive challenges of life as a modern mother with more self-awareness, clarity and Confidence. In December, we walk our talk, and I take some time off recording to be with my family and recharge before next year. So I've re-released for you the most popular episodes of the past six months. These are the episodes you loved to share with friends, you emailed about and deemed to be the most helpful. This week’s episode is with Lucy Jones. She is an investigative journalist, and award-winning author and has just written a new book called Matrescence.Matresence is one of my favourite words and subjects ever. It describes the process of becoming a mother - the confusing discombobulating cocktail of emotions that happens when we transition from woman to mother. All the physical, emotional and spiritual changes. A bit like the transition from teenager to adult.Listen to hear about:
What matresence means and its anthropological roots
Our position as a mother in today’s society and how it’s geared to be against mothers
Why we need more support in society and Lucy’s thoughts on how we can receive that
If only all mothers knew this word, I think we would have found it so much easier to be kind to ourselves, knowing it’s meant to be a bumpy journey.Special thanks to this week's sponsorKURO KIDSFor a limited time, our listeners can trial a nanny for FREE. MOMENT | THIS needs to happen to nurture equal parenting in our society with Paul Morgan Bentley
Welcome back to Moment. Your moment on a Monday for calm and connection and maybe even a shift in perspective before the week ahead. This week I am speaking with Paul Morgan-Bentley, author of “The Equal Parent” and dad to his three-year-old son. He welcomed into the world via surrogacy with his husband, Robin. As a gay dad, Paul found himself in a unique position as he took on primary caregiving and felt sick of all the praise he received for doing the basics. He saw how mothers were carrying the labour of childcare and asked why parental care is so unequal in households across the country. Is it biology? Gendered stereotypes? or something else? We chat about what needs to change to encourage dads to take on more care responsibilities and encourage equal parenting.I hope you enjoy this moment episode.FREE WORKSHOPS on 30th November & 6th December at 8pm.
