Do we wrestle with the idea that the Thinning of the Veil is sound doctrine. Or that we can and should be having Thinning of the Veil experiences. This episode discusses evidences in both a scriptural context and also through words from the prophet and apostles. By using these teachings from our leaders own mouths, we can begin to understand that not only doctrinally sound, but that we should be expecting and experiencing these things for ourselves. Elijah the prophet, returned to the Earth and restored the Sealing Keys and Authority to turn the hearts of the children to the fathers, and the turning of the the hearts of the fathers to their children. While this event was important for many reasons, it was most importantly preparing not only covenant Israel, but the whole world, for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. The Priesthood restored by Elijah allows for protection for those willing to make the covenant and who participate in ordinances, from the Savior's glory upon His return. The Gathering of Israel is the most important work taking place on Earth today, precisely because we are the people called to prepare the world for that soon to be glorious day. This episode reviews the gifts, powers, and glory that are inherent in the Gathering. The doctrine of the Gathering of Israel teaches that our relationships extend beyond the grave. We can have deep abiding relationships with our loved ones who have past, including those who we did not know in our earthly existence. Our family from ages past, are aware of our sorrows, struggles, and also our desires. They will move heaven and earth for our connections to be eternal. Some relationships never seem to dim over time, even growing increasingly stronger as we serve each other on both sides of the veil. In Doctrine and Covenants 66:2 it says, "Verily I say unto you, blessed are you for receiving mine everlasting covenant, even the fulness of my gospel, sent forth unto the children of men, that they might have life and be made partakers of the glories which are to be revealed in the last days, as it was written by the prophets and apostles in days of old." In this episode we study the importance of the Gathering of Israel in context of attaining to the glories we have been promised from our Heavenly Father. One cannot attain to heavenly glories without "...bringing to pass the immortality and eternal life of man."(Moses 1:39) As we seek to be like the Savior in carrying out His work, we attain to His priesthoods, knowledge, light, intelligence, eternal life...even all the glories of Godhood.
