Trump also says that most the United States has "no problem" even as the United States reaches four million cases. Only five states are seeing a decrease in coronavirus cases.  Trump pushes to reopen schools and says that children "obviously" have a "very strong immune system" and can fight off coronavirus. Trump says that "the country is in very good shape" while experts say that the country is not in good shape.  Trump claims that the United States is "very strong on supplies" for coronavirus, amid reports of PPE being in short supply in some areas. Trump says that coronavirus outbreaks in the south and the west "will all work out" as Dr. Birx warns of soaring cases in 12 cities. Trump also claims that "Arizona is doing very well" as Dr. Birx says Phoenix has "small glimmers" of positivity rate declining.  Another 1.4 million Americans file for unemployment benefits. 52.6 million Americans have filed for unemployment in 18 weeks. Trump Admits Coronavirus WIll Get Worse Before It Gets Better

Trump admits that the coronavirus crisis will probably get worse before it gets better. But, Trump fails to lay out a plan to fix the coronavirus crisis. Trump also says that he now has "no problem" wearing a mask despite "pleading" from the White House aides for refusing to wear one for months. Trump now urges Americans to wear masks, but often doesn't wear one himself and says, "I mean I carry the mask." Trump changes his tone and asks "everybody" to wear a mask "whether you like the mask or not, they have an impact."  Trump resumes the coronavirus briefing but without top doctors. Dr. Fauci says, "I was not invited." Representative Cheney reiterates support for Dr. Fauci after criticism from fellow GOP members.  Trump still says that the "virus will disappear" even as the United States has seen an increase of one million new cases in 17 days. A CDC study finds that the actual number of coronavirus cases in the United States may be up to 24 times higher in some places, greater than thought. The number of cases could be much higher in many regions, including New York, Minnesota and South Florida.  Florida sees hospitalizations increase in 37 percent in 12 days amid surge in cases. Trump To Resume Coronavirus Briefings Despite Having To Walk Back Past Advice

Coronavirus cases are rising in 31 states as deaths are up in 20 states. United States coronavirus cases top 3.8 million and United States coronavirus deaths are near 141,000. Florida governor is heckled as Florida reports more than 10,000 cases for sixth day in a row and more than 50 hospitals are now at ICU capacity, including four in Broward County and others are down to one ICU bed. Florida Governor stands by decision to avoid mask mandate. Top HHS official says "there is no question we are having  surge."  Trump says he'll resume coronavirus briefings despite health officials having to walk back his advice in the past. Trump also touts wearing a mask after downplaying them for months, calling it "patriotic." A source says that negative poll numbers finally persuaded him to wear a mask. Trump wearing a mask comes 108 days after his own administration recommended wearing masks.  Dr. Birx says that wearing masks, closing bars and limiting indoor gatherings can come close to impact of sheltering-in-place.  Missouri governor downplays the risk of kids being infected with coronavirus at school by saying, "they're going to get over it."
