Obama Rips Trump in Harshest Attacks Yet
Former President Barack Obama is making his case for his former Vice President Joe Biden. He delivered his first stump speech Wednesday night in Philadelphia. Obama's speech represented his most direct attacks on President Donald Trump to date.
In his speech, the former President criticized many of Trump's actions including Trump's tax policy. The New York Times reported, Mr. Trump's tax records show he has pursued business projects in China for years and maintains a Chinese bank account. Obama referenced this report saying in part, "If there were reports that I had a Chinese bank account, they would've called me Beijing Barry."
Obama also questioned Trump's handling of the coronavirus pandemic. He said in part If Trump had "been working the whole time" the pandemic "never would have gotten this bad."
While the Former President blasted Trump's presidency, Trump traveled to North Carolina, a must-win state, to rally his supporters.
Obama's speech came ahead of Thursday's presidential debate. Trump and Biden will go head-to-head in Nashville, Tennesee. Trump has been lashing out at the Debate Commission rule on muting microphones.
A new CNN/SSRS survey shows Biden leads comfortably in Pennsylvania, potentially the decisive swing state. So far, more than 40 million early votes have been cast.
