Federal Court Pauses Release Of Trump Documents
In a last ditch effort to prevent the release of hundreds of personal documents, former President Trump won a temporary pause on releasing White House records to the House select committee investigating the January 6 attack on the US Capitol. The injunction is to protect the court's jurisdiction to address appellant's claims of executive privilege and should not be construed as a ruling on merit.
The defense has rested their case today in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, a teenager faced with several charges of homicide in 2020 following social unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Closing arguments are expected early next week.

Kyle Rittenhouse Testifies Under Oath
In an emotional testimony, defendant Kyle Rittenhouse cried when describing the events which lead to the fatal shooting of two people in August of 2020. The judge in the trial sharply admonished the prosecutor twice for his line of questioning. By the the end of court today, the judge told jurors that he expects to finish the case by early next week.

Jan. 6 Committee Issues 10 New Subpoenas
Ten new subpoenas have been released targeting high-ranking Trump loyalists including Stephen Miller and Kayleigh McEnany. With Attorney General Merrick Garland yet to weigh in on behalf of the DOJ regarding criminal contempt charges for Steve Bannon, some recipients have already indicated they will not comply with the subpoenas.
Narcan, an opioid inhibitor used to prevent drug overdoses, was administered by first responders to attendants at the Travis Scott concert in Houston, Texas. The Houston fire chief says Narcan use by first responders does not mean that drugs were the primary cause of death for the eight people who died therefore the investigation remains ongoing.
