The Luella Jonk Show
Dr. Luella Jonk, PhD
From the therapy room of a registered psychotherapist, dating coach and solopreneur who has tirelessly attempted a 'healthy' work-life balance for 25 years, it rarely existed for me and likely does not for most business owners, entrepreneurs and executives. The truth is relationships can really suffer. I will be interviewing expert guests who are doing things right so we can all learn to mix business with pleasure. Topics will range from building better relationships, connection, dating, and how to spread more kindness and compassion towards others while doing so. Listeners, you have the right to have passion surrounding your work while maintaining passionate relationships. You can have your cake and eat it too. New episodes premiere every Tuesday.

Surprising Facts About the Risks of CVD in Women with Dr. Felice Gersh
I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Felice Gersh once again. Many of you recognize her name from my previous episodes (#7, #23, #41) where we spoke of the important topics of hormone balance starting from the early years of menstruation all the way to the end of our cycles. In today’s episode, we touch on all the protective benefits of estradiol (estrogen) as it relates to cardiovascular health. Because estradiol takes a severe drop in menopause, it would be wise to increase our levels through various natural ways (lifestyle changes) as well as consider hormone replacement therapy. Mark Sisson and His Mission To Change How the World Eats
I had the tremendous honor of interviewing Mark Sisson, the founder of the primal movement and the person behind defining what it means to live an ancestral lifestyle (meaning going back to the basics). In this interview, I capture the person behind the name Primal Blueprint, Marks Daily Apple, and Primal Kitchen. Soon you will be hearing about his most recent endeavor, Peluva; a brand of minimalist shoes that not only look good but are good for you. Mark always had an incredible hunger for more. His confident and competitive nature, along with perseverance and passion was, and still is, the driving force behind his success. Success as an incredible entrepreneur, husband, father, and grandfather. He is the author of several bestselling books, including The Primal Blueprint, The Keto Reset Diet, and Two Meals a Day, as well as the founder of Primal Kitchen foods. Solo Episode: Drawing a Line in the Sand
In today’s episode, you get to hear me riff on the topic of why it is important to set limits and what this means in terms of honoring your needs. I also describe why I much prefer using the term ‘drawing a line in the sand’ rather than ‘boundary’. I discuss why it is not only respectful of yourself but also respectful of others to define your limits and adhere to your values. I describe these terms in the context of relationships with your partner, children, colleagues, etc. Finally, I define why we always want to strive to be kind, but it is not so important to be nice and liked. To be liked is very fluid, whereas kindness is heart-centered and grounding. If you enjoy the I Think, I Can Podcast, I’d love for you to subscribe, rate, and give a review on Apple Podcasts. All About Brain Health with Dr. Jay Faber of Amen Clinics.
Today I had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Jay Faber, a double board-certified psychiatrist with a fellowship degree in integrative medicine. We touched on the topics of brain anatomy in relation to specific conditions such as focused attention and awareness, narcissism, ADHD, how we connect with others/relationships, learning, and the problems with the education system. In addition to his work at Amen Clinics, Dr. Faber is President of BrainSource, a corporation founded to teach adolescents how to build successful lives. Supporting the work at BrainSource, Dr. Faber is creating a series of programs to help guide teens to go from being good students to great leaders. Since working at the Clinic, Dr. Faber has also written a book; Escape: Rehab Your Brain To Stay Out of The Legal System. The book was written as a step-by-step instruction on how individuals involved in the legal system can rehabilitate their brains. The book focuses on five areas to help individuals work on implementing disciplines to never return to that system again. Solo Episode: The Energetics of Relationships
Hey! Today we are talking about the importance of tapping into our emotions and how to express emotions. This is so important in all areas of self-expression but especially in the area of relationships. In the area of self-development, it is not spoken about enough. There is also a big myth surrounding the idea that when a relationship is failing, it is all about communication. It is not ALL ABOUT the mechanics (strategy) of COMMUNICATION, it is all about self-actualization and tapping into your energy; how connected you are you to yourself. Your dependency to connect to others starts with how connected you are to yourself. Enjoy the show.
