I spoke with Patrick Paul, a partner with Snell & Wilmer, and the chairman of the board for State Law Resources, Inc., an international law firm network that focuses on referrals associated with state capital representation, government relations practices, and lobbying. We discussed the mission of State Law Resources, how it differs from other law firm networks, its selection criteria, the location of its members, reasons that a firm should join a network, and what the increasing influence of law firm networks reflects about the changing nature of legal practice.

I spoke with Peter Zver, President of Tikit North America, a global software and IT services company and the creator of Carpe Diem, a popular timekeeping solution in the legal market, and Justin Hectus, Director of Information, at Keesal, Young & Logan, a full service business law firm with five offices around the Pacific Rim.

I spoke with Josh Becker, the CEO of Lex Machina, a provider of legal analytics to law firms and corporate legal departments for their business development and trial success. We discussed the mission of Lex Machina, the impact of the company's acquisition by LexisNexis, the impact of analytics on legal practitioners, and where this area is headed, among other topics.

I spoke with Chris Stock, the CEO of LEAP US, a cloud-based practice management tool for solo practitioners and small law firms.

I spoke with Shelley Brown, an attorney and the Director of Managed Review Services at RVM, a full-service e-discovery provider. We discussed the impact of managed review, the characteristics of a successful contract attorney, the effect of artificial intelligence on e-discovery, and the advantages of near-shore vs. off-shore litigation support, among other topics. RVM recently opened a managed review facility in Cleveland and is celebrating that launch with an open house this evening.

I spoke with Mike Murray, the director of client solutions at Veritext Legal Solutions, a national provider of court reporting and deposition services. He is also responsible for the company’s new litigation collaborative work space called LawStudio.

I spoke with Reid Schroder, an account executive with Siteimprove, a company that provides web governance solutions for organizations of all sizes around the world. We discussed how Siteimprove helps law Firms, why it is important to have a website free of errors like broken links, misspellings, and SEO deficiencies, the impact of content marketing and blogging on the need to monitor professional websites, and key legal industry trends, among other topics.

I spoke with Nehal Madhani, the founder and CEO of Alt Legal, a cloud-based software tool to prepare and manage global IP filings. He will be presenting at the Clio Cloud Conference on the role of APIs and how Clio can be leveraged as a platform from the perspective of an attorney and a programmer.

I spoke with Bob Gogel, the CEO of Integreon, a leading legal process outsourcing firm serving both global law firms and corporations. Prior to joining Integreon in 2011, he was the CEO of Enrich, an employee benefits consultancy, and has held positions on the executive boards of AXA Group and Siemens Business Services GmbH. We discussed why legal processing outsourcing has become so attractive to law firms and corporations, Integreon's new global delivery center in Austin, offshoring and onshoring preferences, and data security best practices. We also spoke about the 2015 ILTA conference, emerging trends in the legal profession, and where the practice of law is headed in the next few years.
