Evangelicals' obsession with promoting American involvement with and financial and military support of Israel in any and every situation is claimed to be the Christian approach, but is this really the case?

Bible Prophecy Under the Microscope-Episode 67 Gary picks up where he left off last week, discussing modern prophetic speculation about current events, which, in reality, is nothing new. The same texts are interpreted, re-interpreted, and even modified to fit the "facts" of our current world in order to make the Bible "fit" what's being claimed by authors, pastors, and prophecy pundits.

Gary continues speaking with Kim Burgess about 1 Corinthians 15 and the timing and nature of the resurrection. Kim continues teaching about Sheol, the realm of the dead, and how Jesus gave victory over it. Believers no longer die and go to Sheol, they immediately enter the presence of Christ. As Paul taught, "to live is Christ and to die is gain" (Philippians 1:21) and "absent from the body, present with the Lord" (2 Cor. 5:8).

Gary discusses the current state of eschatology debates online. It can be easy to become dismissive of others who can't understand or agree with your position, but Gary has a different approach. He often says, "Don't give a reason for people to reject your position except the position itself."

Anyone with a computer and a camera is able to share their "biblical studies" and "insights" into current events and the Bible, but none of them are honest enough to admit that this has been going on for decades with similar failed results.

Gary continues going through 1 Corinthians 15 with Kim Burgess. In this episode, they discuss death as being the final enemy. Kim brings up some very interesting points that are not obvious from our English translations. Sheol, or the realm of the dead, was a very big topic in the mind of first century Jews and this is what Paul is addressing.

Gary continues his discussion with Kim Burgess on 1 Corinthians 15. In this episode, Kim walks through the Apostle Paul's "seed analogy" and some of the Greek behind the terms he uses. Paul uses wheat, but Kim changes it to corn to make the point clear: what goes in the ground (what is sown) is not what comes out of the ground (what is raised). The final result is much more glorious than how it began.

Bible Prophecy Under the Microscope-Episode 65 Gary shares his takeaways and summary of the recent discussion/debate he had with Douglas Wilson in Moscow, Idaho. It was a rare occasion for honest discussion on a topic that remains hotly contested among Christians of all types.

Gary begins a series of podcasts on 1 Corinthians 15 with Kim Burgess. In this first one, the two survey the interpretative "land" and with a quick history about how Christians have viewed this chapter and how it relates to eschatology and our future state in a "spiritual body." Kim then gives a quick overview of what he believes Paul is saying. (This series will likely contain five episodes in total.)

In a conference talk recorded years ago, Gary discusses the Battle of Gog and Magog in Ezekiel 38-39. Many Christians teach that this battle is yet to come and involves modern-day Israel. Gary disagrees and gives biblical and historical evidence to show that this battle took place long ago and confirms events spoken of in the OT book of Esther.
