Leigh and Ellie dive into Colette for this Lez-ssentials episode, a recurring segment on the essential movies and TV shows in the lesbian canon. Colette is a 2018 film about Colette (Keira Knightley) who is pushed by her husband to write novels under his name. Upon their success, she fights to make her talents known, challenging gender norms. Also starring Missy, everyone's favorite gender non conforming love interest, southern debutante and bisexual temptress Georgie Raoul-Duval and all of Keira Knightley's hair and wardrobe changes. We talk about gender identity, how we can cut Willy out of this movie completely and figure out who is the real Claudine. Lez-ssentials comes complete with a Colette drinking game because every lesbian movie should be accompanied by heavy drinking.
