My guest on today’s episode is Merril Dean. Merril is one of only two psychologists serving the entire Northwest Territories and Nunavut in Canada.

I’ve gotten a lot of questions over the years about how we structure our annual staff retreat. Today, I’m talking through the history of the staff retreat and how it’s evolved over time, from three people in my living room to renting an event space over the past couple of years. If you have even a small staff, an annual retreat is an awesome way to keep people connected and give your practice an infusion of energy.

399. Using Debt to Your Advantage w/ Danielle Hendon
Would you rather read the transcript? Click here.
I talk with consulting clients A LOT about finances in their practices. We talk about how to finance their practices in the beginning, how to manage cash flow problems, how to fund growth, how to increase revenue…all of the things. For all of those conversations and my own experience with financial ups and downs, I truly know very little compared to my guest today. Danielle Hendon, founder and owner of 4 Corners CFO, is here to talk with me about practice finances. We spend the majority of our conversation talking about debt: “good” debt vs. “bad” debt, line of credit vs. credit cards, and times when you want to use debt to your advantage. We also talk about Danielle’s CFO framework, how to talk finances with kids, and many other topics. If you’re like many of us and experience some shame or embarrassment around money, I hope that you walk away from this episode with some comfort that you’re definitely not alone!
